Pony - VIC

Cheng Jie Besides the delicious food, Sylvester is also one of the main reasons I would come back to this restaurant. He was warm and humorous, making us feel relaxed and welcome from the moment we were seated until the end of the meal. His attentive and professional service truly made our dinner even more enjoyable. The food was excellent as well. The bread and zucchini chips as appetizers left a strong impression on me — perfectly crispy and not greasy at all. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the beef was cooked just right. You can really tell that care goes into every dish. I’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. The ambiance is elegant and refined, making it a great place for gathering with friends or simply enjoying a nice evening out. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.

Armadela VNO Woodfire Pizza - VIC

N Yeung I should have posted this many weeks ago (but forgot to) - Was here when they first launched and offered free coffees and 50% meals. The coffees were great and the food was delicious. Very friendly staff, very clean and relaxed inside.

Osteria Renata - VIC

Nadia Asta I celebrated my thirtieth birthday in the private Alba Room at Osteria Renata, and it was truly incredible. The service was exceptional. Francesca was so accommodating and made the whole experience feel so special. A huge thank you to Monique for the beautiful cake - it looked stunning and tasted even better. Every guest commented on how delicious the food was. We were all absolutely full by the end, and the homemade pasta was so impressive. I also have to mention the wonderful waitress who looked after us all night. I organised a 3-hour drinks package, and she remembered everyone’s drink preferences and kept them flowing. The Alba Room itself was gorgeous - such a perfect, intimate space. Everyone loved it and kept saying how amazing the night felt. I was so excited and enjoying myself that I totally forgot to take food photos! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly, highly recommend.

High Society - VIC

Shazrina Located on High St - this cafe is a little gem! The venue is beautifully decorated! There is a selection of quick eats located at the front of the cafe or there is a vast selection of savoury dishes for the in house menu! One thing to note is there is no sweet dish on the menu - however there is a selection of sweet treats and cakes in their display window. The coffee is delicious and their Iced Matcha Mango was perfectly made! We had the Chilli Eggs which was poached eggs with a chilli tomato sauce (more tomato, less chilli) and topped with crunchy kale - the combo of crunchiness and flavours from the tomato was great! Highly recommend! Please note their meats are not halal.

Neighbourhood Pizza - VIC

Sarah North April 2025: Food - ordered the following: Calamari to share as a starter - very tender and tasty. Lamb Ragu gnocchi - nice but a bit too much tomato in the sauce. Sausage rigatoni - this was delicious and one of the best ive tasted. Potato pizza with added pancetta - this is a very expensive pizza (i.e. a few potato pieces and ham) and would honestly cost around $3 to make but in any event it was a good size and tasty with a very nice base, just very overpriced. Barramundi - very nice but would do with the addition of a potato or a grain to add a small amount of carbs. Tiramisu for dessert - HUGE portion size and very nice. Atmosphere - modern and inviting. Service - very attentive and friendly but we were told numerous times we had a 1hr45m slot and that was it which was off-putting especially on a Sunday night. Will return. June 2025: Disappointing experience due to being constantly reminded that we had a 1.5hr booking and the people we were eating with were running late. Ordered two Pizzas, a pasta and the mixed seafood. All very nice but staff overly pushy about getting us out. A 1.5hr session for 4 people is not long enough. Also they dont serve coffee or tea which is frustrating so we had to drive all the way to oakleigh to get a coffee/tea after the meal.

Giorgios Restaurant - VIC

Andrew Nathan Exceptional food and service from entrees to dessert. All served with a smile and the food was fantastic. I personally had the Eye Fillet ( Rare ) - cooked perfectly - considering we were a party of 40+ people nothing was a problem. A+

Sugo Restaurant - VIC

Ananya Anand There’s something quietly special about dining at Sugo Restaurant, a place that’s been part of Malvern for over 25 years and still feels relevant because it stays true to flavour. This is legacy Italian dining without the fuss, where the food does the talking. The freshly made pastas are an absolute standout, chef’s kiss in every sense. The aglio in particular is unforgettable: beautifully balanced, fragrant, and easily one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Simple, confident, and cooked with intent. Start with the creamy stracciatella or a classic burrata salad, and you’re already winning. Add a glass of Art Series Riesling and suddenly you’ve got the kind of meal that’s perfect for a relaxed date night, warm, intimate, and effortlessly impressive. Sugo isn’t chasing trends, and that’s exactly why it works. If you’re skipping this place, you’re genuinely missing out on one of Melbourne’s most enduring Italian gems.
