5 /5 Alessia Cannistraci: This is absolutely amazing!! In this place you can have an astonishing experience not just a dinner. The staff is incredibly warm. Sami at the welcome desk is very kind, Nick the manager did an amazing service by explaining every dish and the chef Federico prepared literally work of arts. The plates are an explosion of flavours that embrace two main different cuisines in a special and unique way. An incredible choise of wines and drinks. The atmosphere is so quiet and warm. The best ever! I truly recommend this place!

5 /5 Andrew Luu: Superb dining, food is definitely underrated and more deserving of 3 hats (maybe next year?!) The menu has something for everyone, and had an excellent balance of fresh, bright and citrus dishes making use of native ingredients, as well as hitting the perfect balance of savoury, acidity and sweetness in the other dishes (whilst being not too salty!) Every dish was excellent. Standouts for us were the steak with Cafe de Paris butter (perfect balance of sweet, umami, savoury, even texture), potato bread with black garlic butter, and the wagyu tartare.

5 /5 Taige Alhadweh: Bottarga absolutely blew me away. The atmosphere alone is something special — buzzing, warm, and somehow so alive that you could be sitting right next to someone and barely hear them. It feels like stepping into a little pocket of energy that instantly makes the night better. The food? Exceptional. Every dish felt thoughtful and refined without trying too hard. From beautifully plated bites to rich, comforting mains, everything landed. The flavours were sharp, balanced, and memorable — you can tell the kitchen cares about craft. The service was top notch too. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being casual. The kind of team that lifts the entire dining experience. Bottarga is definitely a hidden gem. One of those places you almost don’t want to tell people about because you want to keep it to yourself… but it’s simply too good not to share. Highly, highly recommend.

5 /5 Sarah Wu: Melbourne’s dining scene has been a bit mid lately, and I have to say this is one of the few restaurants that has actually wowed me this year. I really enjoyed every dish and honestly have nothing to fault. The fusion flavours in the entrées were amazing especially the peking duck cigar and the red curry dumplings. The extra crunch on top of the tartare really elevated it to another level. However, next time, I’ll ask for the fish and the pasta to come out separately, because by the time we finished the fish, the pasta was cold. The service was amazing. All the staff were lovely and checked in regularly. I really appreciated how they asked before each course whether we’d be sharing, so they could set the table properly. Their attention to detail was excellent.

5 /5 Honest Reviews: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5/5) Overall: one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Great spot for a special occasional or if you are looking for foods that are guaranteed to be excellent. Came here for the first time a year and a half ago and had the Tasting Experience. Everything was exceptional, but my absolute favourite was the potato bread with cultured butter. It was a long time ago now, so it’s difficult to write a detailed review but we really enjoyed our meal and loved the presentation of the food as well. I’ve included a few photos. Second visit was more recent. This time, we were here for their Wagyu Farewell, a limited time option as the restaurant was moving to a different location. What can I say… it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect, from the potato bread, to the dessert. And it may seem silly to be commenting on the chips which was a side, but the consistency, every single chip was fried to perfection. That’s how you know they care about the food. The dessert which was not part of the set was also a pleasant surprise. I’ll be honest, we didn’t have high expectations as we’re not fans of negroni, but this was like their other foods, really delicious. Would highly recommend this place, book a spot and you won’t regret it.
