4 /5 Mina: This pub is set in a lovely area and has been beautifully renovated. Its position between two street sides gives it an open, airy feel with lots of natural light from the large windows.
The food overall was nice, though the Caesar salad was disappointing. The dressing was thin and lacked the flavour I’d usually expect, tasting more like plain cream. The grated egg gave it an odd, mashed texture, and the bacon seemed to be replaced with very salty, dried prosciutto, which I couldn’t eat. On the other hand, the other dishes were enjoyable, and the apple tart dessert was very good.
Service was a bit inconsistent. While the main meals arrived quickly—even with a busy dining room—our desserts took an unusually long time. We eventually had to ask after them, which was stressful as the two-hour street parking was running out. With longer parking limits, the experience would have felt more relaxed.
