5 /5 Heche: Some of the best pub food in Melbourne. Service was exceptional even when they were short staffed.

5 /5 Angus: Probably the best steak night in Melbourne and I live in the east, so I’ve tried a few! The Cape Grim beef used is definitely premium, cooked beautifully. Add in the stunning ambience and a large selection of craft beers and you’ve got a winner!!

4 /5 Mina: This pub is set in a lovely area and has been beautifully renovated. Its position between two street sides gives it an open, airy feel with lots of natural light from the large windows. The food overall was nice, though the Caesar salad was disappointing. The dressing was thin and lacked the flavour I’d usually expect, tasting more like plain cream. The grated egg gave it an odd, mashed texture, and the bacon seemed to be replaced with very salty, dried prosciutto, which I couldn’t eat. On the other hand, the other dishes were enjoyable, and the apple tart dessert was very good. Service was a bit inconsistent. While the main meals arrived quickly—even with a busy dining room—our desserts took an unusually long time. We eventually had to ask after them, which was stressful as the two-hour street parking was running out. With longer parking limits, the experience would have felt more relaxed.

3 /5 Kit Edwards: Nice venue, killed by so much noise with no dampening. Got some pints and burgs on burger night, which we were told would take some time (not a drama). Came out looking like they had been slapped together in 3 seconds. Chips were seemingly the scraps from the bowl and were super immensely salted, beyond edible. Upon sharing info with staff we were met with indifference. Could have instantly rectified it and we’d have been sorted. No care, no pride from the chefs. Poor FOH service to suit. Won’t be back for a while. Avoid
