Suzanne Johnson My husband and I wandered down to our local Clara on a lovely mid week evening and were reminded just how special this place is. It’s a joy to see people truly embracing it, relaxed, comfortable and clearly at home both indoors and out. There were young locals popping in after the gym starting with a simple plate of olives, wine lovers swirling, sniffing and sipping with quiet contentment and friends greeting each other with big hugs as they caught up for the summer season. All of this created a warm, effortless atmosphere while we explored the fresh offerings. The drinks list really does cater for everyone with thoughtfully curated wines, cocktails, and great coffee. Every dish we chose was spot on, from seafood to duck to gelato. Honest, seasonal cooking that feels generous rather than fussy. Georgia’s service was friendly, inclusive and never intrusive. It was a delight to have Max, the chef, personally deliver his creations with a smile and a few words about the dishes. That personal touch makes all the difference and truly reflects Clara’s spirit as a neighbourhood bistro and wine bar where locals connect. We’ll absolutely be bringing friends next time. Clara is one of those places that deserves to be shared and returned to often.

Jason Bradley Great food, amazing atmosphere and the best service. The subtle attention to detail from the entire team is amazing. Anthony and the owner welcomed us at the front door on a Friday night, got us a nice tale and organised drinks. The bartenders were friendly and quick service. The junction tavern is my favourite inner city place for a casual lunch for business or dinner before heading out to the theatre.

CAROLE WARD We had the best time at Emilios celebrating a colleagues birthday. As we had limited time over lunch the staff went the extra mile to make sure the exceptional meals arrived quickly and then sang happy birthday in Italian! We will make it our Birthday go to - thank you soo much

Robert Fuller We had a booking for 10 for my wife’s birthday. The staff were excellent - Callum looked after us extremely well during our meal and a young lady (who has a bike - but her name escapes me) helped me during the earlier set up of the table. The meal was excellent (as always) and the bar service was spot on. Nothing was an issue including bringing our own birthday cake. We could have chosen anywhere in Newcastle …. We chose The Junction Hotel. Thank you The Junction - you never fail to impress. well done!

M L Lovely cafe on the corner across from where I stayed. It is unusual to find cafes that include breakfast options in addition to the bog standard eggs and bacon combo type fare. I had the porridge which was perfectly cooked with honey and a banana, and they kindly accommodated my request for a little extra fruit and included some strawberries and blueberries, was just what I wanted to start the day. Coffee was creamy and tasted really very good. The staff even filled my water bottle for me. When youre travelling and particularly by yourself as I was, its nice to find somewhere you feel comfortable to relax over a meal. Would definitely come again.

Daniel Bingham Ordered 1 thing from the menu and boy do I recommend. The Dirty Burger basically a breaky burger and it was freakin amazing. Service was pretty fast also. I highly recommend this unassuming little cafe.

Lara Cutrupi We recently held a Hens night dinner at Urban and cannot fault anything! Kasia was so helpful in the lead up to our dinner, allowing us to add our own event styling to the menu and providing alternatives to cater for our dietaries. The set menu was delicious and generous servings, great value for money. And the team were very attentive throughout the evening. Thank you thank you thank you! Our Bride and group were all so impressed and happy!
