Ladro - Food VIC

Justas Pipinis Rocco’s Bologna Discoteca feels distinctly different from every other Italian restaurant I’ve been to, but I can’t put that difference in words. Something about the interior, the menu, the name, the vibe… It’s good different, though. The menu is short but well executed. Today I had campanelle with lamb ragu - fresh and full of flavour even without fatty sauces to carry it. A slice of stone fruit cake was moist and had nice tartiness to it, a nice way to finish a weekend lunch.

James Brannigan Big hitter. Big filler. Pretty hard to pick the wrong thing off of the menu. Very friendly staff, happy to have the food and drinks come out however you want. Ambient. Plenty of room for tall people. Saw some group dinners and some first dates. A lovely wine list. The gnocchi was without a doubt the play, pair it how you like it. Couldn’t complain about the red wine, a lovely drop. Go get it.

Storm Crow Highly recommend this venue for a group catch up. Came here with some friends and family and everyone enjoyed their meals (the chicken waffles were amazing!). Coffee was great too. Recommend booking as its super popular. We sat outside where there was heating too.

Matthew Rees Cracking old Melbourne Pub. Ice cold beer and plenty of cool Ftzroy Football Club memorabilia. Well worth a wander down from the Main street.

Lisa Brisbois Visiting Melbourne for two days, I ended up at this place because I loved the name. Im so happy I stopped in. The avocado toast was incredible and they were able to create a gluten free version! The coffee was smooth and delicious and the place has a cozy and relaxed vibe. Great service, too. I wish I didnt have to leave so soon because I would definitely pop by for another meal.

Brandy Daniels Spent 6 years in Nashville—love hot chicken and regularly visited the og spots (Princes and Boltons), so I was really skeptical about hot chicken in Melbourne. But this place was delicious! Absolutely hot was solid, and great fries and excellent Mac and cheese. Also really excellent service and atmosphere!

Vicky Tip Love the dish I ordered. Omelette goat cheese, caramelized onion sauce, topped up with fried chickpeas, and pickled red onion. It was perfect high protein brunch for me. Also love the syrup in my iced latte. Good lighting. Good atmosphere.

Sally-Anne Russell Cute as a button tiny French bistro on the city edge in Carlton. Close tables and felt like being in Paris. Delicious classic French with a few twists in the mix as a salute to owner Finnish heritage. We had a birthday celebration and ended up surrounded by birthdays and anniversaries at the various tables .. much mirth in multiple renditions of happy birthday and happy chats between a few of our tables! The omelette, melty Brie, Scallops, duck risotto, confit duck cheese and brûlée and d’affinois for dessert! Yum.. 2 person restaurant chef and server! Good service old fashioned and lovely .. very enjoyable.. will return !

Hannah We came to see a friend play a gig here and it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday arvo The venue was really lovely, the music was great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful even though the place was absolutely packed. The manchego & jalapeno croquettes were absolutely to die for, the flavours were incredible. Overall it was good food, good vibes, good people. Well definitely be back!
