4 /5 Christopher Wu: Was told by a friend to check out the taco spot around the corner with just a “Tacos” sign out front — turned out to be Little Hop, and glad I gave it a shot.
Walked in and was welcomed with friendly service, seated quickly with water on the table. Started with a chicken taco — it was decent, good flavour, though the meat was a little on the dry side. The tacos here are cooked directly on the grill so they come with that toasted base, which I really liked.
What really stood out though were the birria tacos. Easily one of the better ones I’ve had in Melbourne — larger in size, generous with the cheese, and the meat stayed juicy throughout. The tortilla had a perfect toast and the overall flavour was rich. Yes, it leaned on the greasier side, but in this case it worked.
A solid little taco spot, especially for the birria.
