Samuel Cox I can’t believe it has taken us this long to discover Salamatea/Kababi in our local area. A hidden gem, tucked away in an industrial area, more people need to know about this place. We came for a Saturday lunch and ordered Kashk e Bademjan for starters and then Kebab Torsh & Chicken Fesenjun for mains. The meat was delicious and the flavours of the rice and condiments turned it into a deliciously fresh and satisfying meal. Accompanied by a Persian Latte which combined the flavours of saffron & cinnamon; it was delicious. The wait staff were so friendly and attentive, they even began playing “Googoosh” on the music speakers which really tied the whole experience together (much better than mainstream music you hear at every other cafe). We will definitely be returning. Highly Recommend.

Nathanial Conway An absolute UNIT of a hsp and the delicious juicy chicken kebab. Lovely cook great portion and excellent quality food. Surprisingly nice art on the wall.

Daniel Hume Such a lovely discovery and so unassuming. Food was delicious and inventive. I don’t really enjoy noisy environments when eating so Nina’s was the perfect fit. A tad cold inside, but hey it’s winter. Couldn’t fault the food or the staff who were accomodating, quiet and attentive. Highly recommended for those who like interesting flavour profiles. Definitely be returning to this beauty that boasts a stunning menu.

Shu Yi Ng Really enjoyed the atmosphere at Kumo Izakaya — relaxed, warm, and perfect for a casual night out. The sake selection was great, and the food was well executed. The Patagonian toothfish was buttery and fresh with a well-balanced sauce, and the yellowtail kingfish with yuzu ponzu was light and refreshing. Seating options are varied, which adds to the overall experience. Would definitely come back for a laid-back dinner and drinks.

Duncan Nice place to enjoy some Chifa cuisine (probably slightly fusion Chifa?) Atmosphere was really nice, we sat in the covered outdoors area in the back. Food was awesome and well priced. Drinks were also reasonably priced and pisco sours were great. Service was awesome - we had a waitress (blonde, hair tired up, forgot her name) but she was so happy, bubbly, helpful and just made it a wonderful experience so a big thanks to her! Also it was a bonus that when we paid they didnt present options to tip on the machine - quite refreshing.

clem poon Unique and delicious! Ordered 2 mains, a few side dishes + drinks and all were incredible. Were lucky enough to be seated at the counter overlooking the kitchen. Food was well-paced coming out, drinks were on point. Had a curry and the tom kha coconut broth, both of which had us wide-eyed and nodding our heads as we took our first bites. Coupled with rice and roti it was a nearly perfect meal. Only regret was not leaving enough room for dessert, but thats something well correct for next time!

Cami Orellana What a wonderful place! From the moment we walked in, I felt right at home everyone from the staff to the owner was incredibly kind. And the food… absolutely spectacular! I loved it, everything was so, so delicious. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place you won’t regret it!

Natalie Tan Came here in July and had - Roasted pumpkin and superfood salad - Heuvos de Patatas - Kids chicken and chips - Banana bread The standout for us was the kids chicken and chips, the chicken was very well flavoured, yet not overwhelming so my kid loved it. The Roasted pumpkin and superfood salad & Heuvos de Patatas were good, but did not leave us with the feeling that it was exceptional enough for us to want to order it a second time. Brunswick cafes have stiff competition, which is the only reason I mention this. Based on the crowd, we could tell this place was otherwise very popular. Otherwise, we enjoyed our meals and had a pleasant dining experience.

Mandy Jayasinhe Beautiful evening, I let them know we were running late, the team moved our time so it was no issue,. Service was warm , friendly , efficient and fast! We took advice on whether we ordered enough dishes.. spot on! Our dips, olives, meatballs,cauliflower, salads, lamb , chicken and of course the potatoes … was just delicious the desserts too.
