Y T This award-winning sourdough cafe in Oakleigh, and owner known for its previous latte art champion, is a short walk from the train station. The staff are friendly and attentive. The signature mushroom focaccia is delicious, I find the coffee is average. I thoroughly enjoyed the focaccia!

Lu “Ins&Tk:deliciousdownunder” Recently visited this classic Cantonese restaurant after their relocation, and it was a great experience. The new space is bright, clean, and spacious, with easy parking right next door, making it very family-friendly. We ordered the garlic prawn balls with vermicelli, crispy taro duck, XO clams with fried dough sticks, and scallop egg white fried rice. Everything was well seasoned, comforting, and generously portioned. The taro duck was a standout – crispy outside with savory taro inside. Overall, this place delivers authentic, old-school Cantonese flavours with reasonable pricing. Perfect for family dinners, gatherings with friends, or anyone craving proper Cantonese food. They also offer live seafood for special occasions. Would definitely come back again.

TANNAZ RADBIN We went to this restaurant and ordered a burger and a souvlaki roll. Both were absolutely delicious! This was my fourth time visiting, and it certainly won’t be my last. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty food and a great experience!

Bill Oakleigh may be the home of Greek cuisine in Melbourne, but this little Italian joint bucks the trend. There’s a real homey vibe to this place, with lots of chatter (in Italian of course) and a rustic shop/cafe/restaurant interior. It’s not fancy, but it’s comfortable. The service is fantastic. Warm and welcoming. The owner (I assume) was eating lunch and holding court at a table and greeted us as we walked in, offering us one of two available tables (keep in mind there are only a very few tables inside). Our orders were taken, and the food came out in courses, which was welcome considering the snug table size. This is not a criticism btw, it was all so thoughtfully delivered. The food itself was faultless. Like the decor, not fancy, but simple, honest and delicious. We loved every moment of our lunch here and will certainly be back when we need to scratch the Italian food itch. Edit: another visit and another fantastic meal.

If youre craving truly authentic Greek food that transports you straight to the streets of Greece — Kalimera Souvlaki Art in Oakleigh is unbeatable. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted with the unmistakable aromas of - the best Greek meat, fresh dips, and warm pita bread. The energy is buzzing, the service is quick and friendly, and the food? Next level. I’ve been to Greece plenty of times — and let me say, this is the closest you’ll get without hopping on a plane. The pork and chicken souvlaki is perfectly seasoned, tender, and fresh, wrapped in pillowy soft pita with crisp tomato, onion, and that creamy, garlicky tzatziki. Pure heaven. The pork and chicken skewers are also spot-on, juicy and full of flavour. Even the little touches — the paprika -dusted chips, the homemade dips, the fresh salads — show that this place cares about quality and tradition. It’s casual, it’s quick, and it’s consistently excellent. You’ll find locals, Greek families, and food lovers all gathered here — and for good reason. Kalimera means “good morning” in Greek — but after eating here, your whole day will be good. Honestly, this is hands down the best Greek food outside of Greece. Go once, and you’ll be hooked. I’m originally from W.A and we are here 3 times over our stay in Melbourne.

Chantelle Gonsalves Always incredible food and friendly service, the gentleman who runs the place is always happy to give recommendations and has never steered me wrong! I have never had a bad meal from here. Taras are reliable and tbh sometimes I dream about the butter chicken. As a symptomatic coeliac I have also never had a gluten reaction to any of the curries here. Its really lovely to have such delicious food, friendly service, and also the comfort that Im not going to get sick! If youre in the area and looking for great food, this is THE place to go. :)
