Casa N.O.M Bar y Restaurante - VIC

Genel Sturgeon The margaritas here are INSANE. The best margarita I’ve had in all of Melbourne. And I’ve tried a LOT…. Happy hour is decently priced if you can make it down for HH but nonetheless the bartending here is 10/10

Syed Sharief Had a pizza and an HSP here—both were delicious and freshly made. The restaurant has a clean and friendly environment, which made the experience even better. Would definitely come back. Strongly recommend

UMINONO - VIC

Rebecca Tang A truly wonderful dining experience with owner and chef Arnaud and his fantastic team. The sushi was absolutely delicious, rich in umami and beautifully crafted. Arnauds warm hospitality made us feel so welcome, and the team provided exceptional service. The wine recommended by sommelier Kiki was superb and perfectly paired. Thank you for such a memorable experience to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We both enjoy the experience a lot.

Dad Vietnamese Restaurant - VIC

Anh Nguyen One of the hidden gems located on a crowded street in Prahan. I had dinner there with my mom yesterday and we were amazed by everything. All the foods have a unique taste. Appetiser with “Grilled chicken Rice Paper Rolls” is outstanding. I picked a Main course “Vietnamese-style Pork, with herbs, lettuce, vermicelli and Spring rolls”. Their plating was appealing and it can be shared for 2 people. Especially, the Bun Bo Hue was really nice, might not meet the expectation of an authentic dish, but the flavours are incredibly well-seasoned. Also surprised that the meat in Bun Bo Hue (BBH) is tender and fresh. Additionally, the service was so nice and friendly, and the decoration, atmosphere were cool and nice as well. I would definitely be back with my friends next time!

The Flying Duck Hotel - VIC

Lia Raphael We enjoyed a great lunch from start to finish. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the menu comprehensive, the food delicious, specials were great value & the drinks reasonably priced. Atmosphere was hard to gauge as there were only 2 other tables occupied. We will definitely be back.

Dons - VIC

Polly Peng Don’s is honestly the best thing I’ve eaten in Melbourne so far. The wine is great, the food is great, and the service is just as good. The Fried Chicken Sandwich is super delicious!!!!! It’s probably 500 times better than the best breakfast burger from Mei & Mei back home. It’s literally just fried chicken thigh, some lettuce, cucumber, and mayo, nothing fancy but somehow it’s so balanced, so rich, so perfect. Both times I ate it, I genuinely felt like I could cry.

Furaibou - VIC

Joy Kao We were very saddened when we heard Gypsy & Pig closed, so we knew we had to come to Furaibou! Had the Hamburg Omurice - the sauce was delicious, egg was soft and rice seasoned well. Served with a side salad and miso soup. Delicious! The restaurant is small and cosy but still very accommodating for our pram+baby, which we appreciate a lot. Wish we were closer so we could come back often!

Normandy Wine & Grill - VIC

Barry Came here for the Tuesday steak night where all steaks on the menu are half price with fries and a choice of sauce included with the steak. Ordered four snacks to start and a wagyu MS7+ porterhouse from the special board. All the snacks were tasty. Favourite was the anchovy on toast; the combination of salty anchovy, vinegary pickled shallots, creamy stracciatella, juicy tomato and crispy melba toast worked very well. The tiger prawn was also nicely cooked and flavour packed. For the main dish, the wagyu steak was cooked perfectly medium rare; it was tender without the rough grainy texture and the meat juice was sealed properly giving it a nice beefy flavour. However there wasnt a lot of intramuscular fat in the steak so it felt like eating a marble score 4+ instead of 7+. It was still a very good steak and for half price I was fine with it. Fries were also nice and crispy. For dessert, had the chocolate fondant which was sweet and decadent, plenty of chocolate oozing out and the candied hazelnuts was a good addition. Service was great and the staffs were very friendly, they even offered additional cutleries for the snacks in case I dont want to mix the flavours which was a nice gesture.

Megh Shetty Lovely place. Food is ok. People, space and Service is good. However, food service had 45min + wait time, which we thought was slow.

Hobba - VIC

christopher leow Edit: After conversing with Sam, we returned to Hobba for another chance. The steak baguette, brisket benedict and hotcakes were great and the serving sizes substantial I even had to take the food home. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. The coffees were great made well and strong and the Hojicha latte special is a must have too they were large. It was really busy today at lunch the place was absolutely packed so you couldnt really hear music but it was still easy to converse in the space and hear people well. Dog friendly so it was super fun being able to pat dogs too. The staff were super attentive this time and we were super well taken care of with water being refilled, cutlery added, sauce on the side offered by multiple servers. Given how full it was, we got coffee in about 15mins with milk alternatives all correctly made. Specials were great and look forward to seeing what next seasons specials are. Would totally recommend coming back for a good catch up since we stayed for just over two hours and repeatedly ordered coffees! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While the music was great and the coffee we were served when we sat down. The service was disappointing as not once were we checking in on despite sitting right by the pass. We arrived just as lunch rush was dying down and staff were clocking out but waited maybe 10 minutes for our order to be taken only for our order to not be put through. We had to wait an additional 45 minutes to flag staff down staff to inquire on the fact that we had finished our coffees but no food had arrived. At this point we had to leave due to a commitment at 3 only to eat elsewhere. I understand mistakes happen and around new years is a busy period but at least cover the coffees we had. Will heavily consider before returning again to try their specials that actually looked really good. (1/5 stars)
