5 /5 Lizzie Macneill: Astonishing. Captivating. Phenomenal.
I dont want to diminish this place by comparison - but I have to say, this is the closest Ive ever found to LEnclume in the inventive, highly technical, gorgeously immersive, and profoundly caring celebration of farm-to-table food.
Every single dish has so many elements of unique wonder and utterly unabashed delight - whether its piquant green coriander seeds, delicate alyssum flowers, smoky Warrigal greens, beautifully acidic tiny unripe apples, or the ridiculously succulent ice plant lettuce.
The menu (entirely seasonal, forever changing) is a highly technical and persuasively sensual exposition on the unmediated beauty of every note in a seasonal Victorian garden, and it is nothing short of exceptional.
The wine pairings and non-alcoholic pairings are beyond curated - they are a delicious counterpoint in their own right, all exceptionally high quality and each one has clearly been considered with significant and affectionate attention to the dishes - which given the turnover of seasonal produce, is quite frankly nothing short of remarkable. (Also worth noting the drinks pairings are both terrifically good value for money!!)
Huge, HUGE credit to the owners and staff here - this was a really very beautiful place to have our little Christmas lunch. Service was exceptionally friendly, down to earth, and of course intimately well informed in every detail of the offerings.
I honestly cant praise this place highly enough. Definitely worth the money and plenty more!
