Paris Go Bistro - Food VIC

George Xirocostas La Spaghettata on Lygon Street is the real deal. From the moment you walk in, you get that classic Italian trattoria vibe ,warm, welcoming and full of character. The staff were attentive, friendly and genuinely passionate about the food, which makes a big difference. The pasta was outstanding. Perfectly cooked al dente, rich authentic sauces, and generous portions. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. The spaghetti dishes are traditional, comforting and full of flavour, exactly what you expect when you come to Lygon Street for proper Italian food. Service was efficient without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere had that lively Carlton energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion.

Ryan Yeong Comfortable atmosphere with great quality food. Entrees were quite balanced in flavours and textures. Ordered • Sardine on toast • Scallops • Mushroom pastry: would be even better if they did slightly more to the mushrooms to enhance the flavours a little Mains: Sirloin steak on the steak night were cooked beautifully (medium rare). Not a fan of the sauce but that’s just me. Dessert: Olive oil cake with rubharb was really nice, with the perfect amount of sweetness and a tinge of saltiness. Didn’t really need that much cream but it did made it look pleasing aesthetically. Service: Great service staff who also knew their wines well. Need more people like that in the service industry

Tania Such an amazing experience from start to finish. We came in for a quick dinner before heading to the airport and mentioned we only had about an hour. The team were so attentive and thoughtful, bringing dishes out as soon as they were ready so we could enjoy everything without feeling rushed. We didn’t have time for entrees, but the mains and sides we ordered were absolutely delicious. To top it off, I realised I might have lost my ring while we were there (I wasn’t even sure if it happened at the restaurant, but it was a possibility). We called as soon as I realised, and the team immediately helped look around our table, the bathroom, and even the used hand towel basket. When it couldn’t be found, the owner asked the cleaners to leave the sweepings overnight so he could personally go through them the next day and promised to let us know if they found it. He even offered to send it to me in another state if needed. The next day, he contacted us to let us know the ring had been found. I’m honestly so grateful for the care and effort they went to - it’s truly above and beyond anything we could have expected. Everyone was genuinely so kind and caring, and my friends and I were blown away by how sweet and attentive the team were throughout this whole experience. TL;DR: Food is fantastic and the service goes way above and beyond. Would 100% come back and recommend to anyone.

Matthew Kenny Had an amazing meal at this Sri Lankan restaurant! The food tasted incredibly authentic, full of rich spices and proper homemade flavour. Everything we tried was delicious and reminded me of real Sri Lankan cooking. The service was friendly and welcoming too. Would definitely come again — highly recommend if you want genuine Sri Lankan food!

Sanu The restaurant stands to the hype and popularity it has. It’s ultimate chaos but still harmonious with good food and ambience. Friendly service. We had one of the best tiramisu which was suggested by the service staff. Had asked for a slice of cake for my wife as it was her birthday, mentioned this in the reservation booking also. Looks like they missed it.

Mark I had a really lovely experience at Criniti’s Carlton. Jean provided warm and attentive service throughout the meal. Friendly, professional, and made us feel very well looked after. We ordered the carbonara and it was absolutely amazing. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. Definitely one of the highlights of the night. Would happily come back again!

Michael Kay Hap Cafe’s Filipino Night in Carlton North was bloody awesome! The food was proper authentic, packed with bold Filipino flavours, huge portions and everything tasted super fresh. The live band was pumping out lively tunes that felt festive but chill at the same time. Staff were super friendly, looked after everyone, and made the whole night feel easy and welcoming. Awesome food, great music, top vibes – 100% heading back! 5 stars all the way.

Dududi Such a lovely Asian fusion restaurant with a great atmosphere! The Grilled Ox Tongue is an absolute must-order, incredibly flavourful and cooked perfectly. The staff were all very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we’d come back to again

Chloe We ordered a lot from the menu, including some tapas, and were genuinely satisfied with everything. Among all the great dishes, our favourites were definitely the burrata and the meatballs (!!!). This place is definitely a go-to spot for drinks and perfectly paired food. Highly recommend! There were plenty of tables available until around 7PM on a Friday night, but it got quite packed by around 8 PM.
