Sweet Evelyn - VIC

Megha Duggal This café was recommended to me by a friend, and from the moment we walked in, I could see how thoughtfully it has been designed. Every need is considered — from being pet-friendly to accommodating families with kids. The staff were warm and welcoming, always smiling, and the café truly felt like a community in itself. Many of the customers clearly knew each other, which was such a lovely and comforting sight. The food portions were generous and satisfying. I visited to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and while I was clicking pictures, the owner must have noticed or overheard the occasion. Out of nowhere, he surprised us with a brownie and a candle, beautifully written with “Happy Birthday.” That thoughtful gesture truly made my day. We enjoyed warm, comforting coffee, and the prices were very reasonable for the quantity of food served. I highly recommend this café for its heart, hospitality, and genuine warmth.

GG Burgers - VIC

sworin First time coming here, was very curious because I passed by it often times, but their closing hour of 3pm made me missed it many times Burger was a big one and taste delicious, cooked right and buns were very crispy and toasted, love every single bite

Zizani Pizza & Pasta - VIC

Andrew CLIK I really like this classic pizza joint. The owners are always friendly and polite, the place is open late, and the pizza is good. It’s more of a bready crust rather than crispy, but always good. Really enjoy this as my local, and as Dominos prices keep going up with their pizzas constantly shrinking, Zizani is a breath of fresh air. Thank you very much for the delicious pizzas, I hope more people put reviews out!

Super Rooster Union Square - VIC

Christopher Wu For the price you have to pay the food is pretty decent. Chicken wasn’t dry from memory and the sandwich was huge. Have to pay for sauces from memory. Serving size for the chips were hugeeee and also good chicken salt chips. The chicken sandwich was nothing special but the value was just really good. Don’t find these prices much these days

Houdinis Cafe e Cucina - VIC

Joanne Hurley First time visiting. Went for liunch on a Friday - was quite busy inside but there was extra seating in a covered outdoor area.. Was recommended by friends. The food & service were excellent. Lovely rustic room. Directly opposite Diggers Rest station so very easily accessed byvtrain as well as by road. Car park at the rear. Will definitely go there again.

Vics Food & Wine - VIC

Kris Kuran Once in a while you find a restaurant that surprises. This was of those occasions. H1d the steak panani and a crowny. Delicious pops to mind. Good crowd in for a Tuesday lunch. Easy on the ears so could have a normal conversation. The staff were attentive but over the top. Worth the effort of giving it a tryout.

The Black Horse Hotel - VIC

Vanda North I am updating my review as I wrote it after a most harrowing day, where the only saving thing was going to be staying in a nice place and having a gastropub meal and some wine. So the shock and disappointment to see it all closed up was the last straw! The rooms were a pleasant surprise, spacious, clean and more than I expected. So I am upgrading my review.

DADDY BABA RESTAURANT - VIC

Shirin Ghaffari We visited this restaurant for lunch and were genuinely impressed by the overall experience. The ambiance was elegant, calm, and immaculately clean. Guests have the option of choosing between table seating or traditional seating, which adds a unique and authentic touch to the space. The staff were professional, courteous, and attentive, providing timely service without being intrusive. We ordered the Soltani Kebab and Chenjeh. The chenjeh was exceptional — beautifully marinated, incredibly tender, and cooked to perfection. It deserves a 5 out of 5 rating without hesitation. The koobideh was outstanding and, without exaggeration, the best koobideh I have had in Australia. The flavor and texture were excellent, earning it a 4.5 out of 5. The barg kebab was also of high quality — flavorful and tender — though I personally prefer it slightly more well done, so I would rate it 4 out of 5. The rice was soft, fragrant, and delicately infused with saffron. The bread served beneath the kebabs was excellent, and the accompanying salad was fresh, well-balanced, and very enjoyable. We ordered doogh as our beverage, which had an ideal consistency and a perfectly balanced taste. Overall, this restaurant delivers a refined dining experience with high-quality food and attentive service. I would confidently recommend it and look forward to returning.

Darling Dumplings - VIC

TBA A great example for not judging a book by its cover. Whether standing out the front or having stepped inside you would not be expecting such tasty, good quality food. Had a lovely meal of plump and flavour filled dumplings and an excellent own-take on char kway teow. They were rushed off their feet yet still got our meal quickly and with a smile. Dinner for two for $45 and we had leftovers. Great option if looking for a quick, cheap and cheerful, tasty meal, dumplings or otherwise.
