Yeonga - VIC

James Wang Love the set menus — generous portions of meats, your choice of soup. Comes with all the good stuff, steamed egg, cheesy corn, and unlimited sides! The beef quality is top-tier, easily among the best in Melbourne. We added the premium beef tongue this time — super tender and flavourful. Great value at $109 for two, and students get 10% off lunch. Close to UniMelb. Perfect spot for dates or group dinners. Highly recommend!

The Rice Cooker - VIC

Y T This is one of the favourite lunch spots in the area, known for its diverse Asian food offerings. While it can get crowded during lunch hours, the service is usually prompt. I’ve tried both takeout and dining in, and the food quality is decent for the price. The portions are generous as well.

Little Africa Restaurant - VIC

Jade First time having Ethiopian food and really loved it. The small stews were well seasoned and was a good sized portion. Would come back here if I’m in Melbourne again!!

The Courthouse - VIC

Elizabeth Really enjoyed our meal at the Courthouse Hotel. One of the Melbourne pubs with the best food. Started with the kangaroo carpaccio and cod roe — both absolutely delicious. For mains, the chicken schnitzel was beautifully cooked with gravy and a tasty broccoli coleslaw, and the slow-cooked lamb shoulder was simply scrumptious. Excellent wines, attentive and pleasant staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Fandango - Hanoi Vietnamese Restaurant - VIC

Hengxin Rookie Zhao This is probably my favourite Asian restaurant in this whole area. So far I’ve tried their grilled chicken bao, grilled chicken bánh mì, and Viet iced coffee. I have to say, the food is genuinely satisfying — the balance of flavours and ingredients is just spot-on. It’s hard to describe how enjoyable each bite is. Even for someone like me who hates vegetables, eating them together with their grilled chicken actually became a pleasure. The staff are very friendly, the place feels warm and cosy, and the prices are reasonable. The only downside is that their Vietnamese coffee is extremely sweet for someone with a Chinese palate like mine — but you can definitely ask them to adjust it, so it’s not really a big issue. Overall, it’s a restaurant that’s absolutely worth trying.

El Sabor - Mexican Restaurant - VIC

Olivia M I have been vegetarian for 22 years and never eaten tofu and liked it but but devoured the tofu and sweet potato burrito bowl. It was amazing! And the sweet potato taco was delicious. I didn’t try but the chicken and beef options were also apparently delicious. Quick, polite service, reasonable prices and a cutely decorated space. We will be back next year!

Twang Brewing - VIC

Billy Smith Staying in Kensington on a trip from London and walked up to this hidden gem. Matt the owner is knowledgable, friendly and KNOWS HIS BEERS. Will be back for sure. Great vibe.

Twenty & Six Espresso - VIC

Chen E. This is a gem in North Melbourne that takes their coffee and brunch very seriously. Their interior is really minimal and chic, especially the garden area. It is the kind of place where you can tell the owner really care about the ingredients and it is a bit more sophisticated than your typical neighborhood cafe.

Gai Wong - VIC

Victor Tran Delicious Hainanese chicken rice being served here. I came to get that nostalgic flavour hit from my holidays from ages back in Malaysia and they did not disappoint. The chicken is poached almost perfectly. Being served cold, the flavour is actually more pronounced. The sauces are full of MSG and if youre like me, thats a good thing. The prices are very reasonable. You can get a nice lunch under $20. I appreciated that I could purchase the chicken and dry noodles separately. I like the nice little outdoor seating area along a relatively quiet spot on Flemington Road.

The Farmacy - VIC

divya kalidindi Place was beautiful. The staff were careless and did not even address when we walked in. Had to go and ask for a table, had to get up and go order at the counter because they did not even care to come and great. It was our first time and very disappointing experience. Food was good.
