3 /5 Sab Ayyappan: Disclaimer: I’m not an expert, these are just my thoughts. I really loved the food but reduced rating to 3 star because of some issues later.
Food: It is one of the few authentic South Indian restaurants that I have visited. Food is on point, very tasty and full of flavour. There is nothing overpowering like super spicy options or masala overload which is a breath of fresh air. Dosas are crispy and the potatoes (both the filling and the one that comes with poori) are excellent. I cleaned the bowl of potatoes in no time. But I did have one issue with the food which is the oil used. To start with it’s too oily to a point that oil pools up on your plate. On top of that the oil may be re used after frying or is old oil that gone off, this is just a hunch and I don’t have proof, but that night and next day I had some discomfort.
Staff: the staff here was amazing. It was only one girl managing the front desk & working the floor at the same time. They are either struggling to find staff or don’t want to invest in more staff, but the staff they have is excellent. The young lady was very attentive and helpful. Even under stress she had everything under control and even gave us share plates before we asked. That’s a 5 ⭐️ staff right there.
Another minor issue we had was with the wait time, we order 3 main dishes, each came separately with about 5-10 minutes wait between each. Honestly that was poor service from kitchen.
This shop has the potential to be a five star experience if the management could iron out these challenges.
Oh ya, also the food is very reasonably priced and they have mirinda, IYKYK
