LiHO Shokudo - VIC

Keith Wong There are three Japanese restaurants in this area serving the same types of dishes - Minamoto, Kenji, and Liho. Liho is the most expensive, and the only one I hadnt been to until now. Why bother coming here? Short answer: because its the best. The price is justified because the food is more refined and the decor more upscale than the other two. The Katsu curry is incredible, it was obviously cooked with skill and the chef absolutely nailed it. The cutlet was only just cooked through, it was still juicy and not dry like the other two restaurants. All three Japanese restaurants in this area do a roaring business, yet they target different markets. You go to Minamoto because its the cheapest and the food is decent, but the owners are not Japanese. You go to Kenji because its the food is legitimately very good, but the place is cramped and very homely. And you come here for more refined cooking, but you have to pay more.

La Perla Bar and Restaurant - VIC

Rebecca Place a rare pearl, this guy really can cook. Dont judge book by cover ... the place is unassuming and humble, but is a must try. We will be coming back here for a birthday lunch. Highly recommend the arancini and eggplant pizza.

Mimis Restaurant - VIC

Thomas Reeh Mimis Restaurant is a fantastic Italian restaurant in Camberwell. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I had the pleasure of dining at Mimis recently with my family, and we all had a wonderful time. We started with the garlic bread and bruschetta, which were both delicious. For our main courses, I had the spaghetti carbonara, my wife had the Salmon, and our kids had the pizza and pasta. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The service at Mimis is also top-notch. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. He also took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. The atmosphere at Mimis is warm and inviting. The restaurant is decorated in a classic Italian style, and the tables are spaced out well so that you have plenty of privacy. There is also a lovely outdoor terrace where you can dine on warm days. Overall, I highly recommend Mimis Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Italian meal. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. Tips: Be sure to make a reservation, especially on weekends. If you have dietary restrictions, let the staff know and they will be happy to accommodate you. Dont forget to try the dessert! The tiramisu and panna cotta are both delicious.

Flame Brothers Kabab & Ice Cream - VIC

Erick Great kebab shop! The food is fresh, tasty, and generously portioned. The meat is cooked perfectly, and the salads and sauces add the right balance. Service is quick and friendly, even when it’s busy. Prices are fair for the size of the meal, and everything is served hot. Definitely one of the better kebab spots in the area.

Harvest Blend - VIC

Maxispaces G I stumbled upon this small cafe on the edge of Camberwell, and it turned out to be a true hidden gem! Although the space is cozy, everything from the food to the service was absolutely spot on, making it a memorable experience. I tried their daily special, crispy pork belly, and it was incredible. The pork belly had the perfect crackling on the outside—crispy to the point where you can hear the crunch—and the meat inside was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. To balance it out, they served it with a papaya salad that was sweet with a slight tang of acidity and a gentle kick of spice. The fresh crunch of the papaya paired beautifully with the richness of the pork belly. Their cold brew coffee was another highlight. On a hot Melbourne summer day, it was just what I needed—smooth, refreshing, and with a deep coffee aroma that wasn’t too bitter. I also ordered a flat white, and to my surprise, it came with a unicorn art! It’s the small thoughtful touches like this that make a place stand out. The staff were incredibly friendly, they made the whole experience warm and welcoming. Their genuine smiles and attentiveness made me feel right at home. If you’re in the Camberwell area, this cafe is a must-visit. Whether it’s for their daily specials or a good cup of coffee, you won’t be disappointed!

Yangcheng Restaurant - VIC

Gabriella Lee what a lovely place! my partner took me here and we tried their lotus root with pickled cowpea, braised pork noodles, and tofu skin with garlic sauce. the wait staff were so attentive and kind, they gave us some delicious puer tea to start. They told us that we would have to wait around 15 mins for the noodles, which we later found out was because they usually only make it for lunch but made an exception for us! Which was very kind of them :) Even if they didnt have it available, there was plenty to pick from on the menu!! The lotus root stir fry was DELICIOUS.... the dark caramel used enhanced the nuttiness of the lotus root and made it incredibly moreish! the pickled cowpea added extra salt and a tiny bit of acid. I couldnt stop eating it and it inspired me to try making it myself (a work in progress). The tofu skin was pretty good, but the pieces of tofu that werent at the bottom were a bit bland. The sauce was still very nice though and it was pretty refreshing! The noodle soup was also lovely, it was savoury and hearty. We got it with rice noodles and the noodles were quite soft but it was kind of nice to scoop them up and drink them with the soup as opposed to slurping them on their own. The pork was well braised and even though the broth was dark it tasted quite mild and comforting. Im very excited to try all their other menu items!! we will 100% be returning :D

PoDian Melbourne 破店 墨尔本 - VIC

Sim Thean (Simon) The vibe is really unique. In Mandarin the shop name means "broken shop". However in actual fact the vibe is more like vintage Chinese traditional eatery in the olden kingdom. The food is great. We took some small bites like oysters and snails, tasted really good. Will come and try the BBQ or the traditional copper steamboat in the future

Proud Peacock - VIC

Michael Kakouros Always the best experience when we visit Proud Peacock. Yet to try something I havent liked. Great vibes inside, complimentary tea on every table, along with water and cordial stationed the front. Love their crispy spring rolls as an entree. The pho is full of flavour, and all the mains wholesome and delicious. Generous servings too. We recently had the Bo Tai Chanh - the beef salad and it was very fresh and tasty. Wish they were open on Sunday nights too!
