Sunshine Social - BBQ - Food VIC

1 /5 CJ: Suggested as a great place to eat. Went with family last night. Half of the main items on the menu were unavailable, so we were limited as to choice. I dont eat bread, so ordered the double beef burger with cheese, bacon, aioli and pickles with BBQ sauce, hoping that would give me a decent serving for my dinner. Arrived in a plastic bowl, the paper thin hamburgers were smothered in BBQ sauce, couple of lonely slices of pickle and Im sure there was a slice of cheese somewhere in this soggy mess. The reason for all the BBQ sauce was to cover the burnt burgers. Service was a joke. 3 separate orders were placed for our table of 12 and part of the last order, arrived an hour after the delivery of the first. Queried why the wait on orders and were advised that the owner was unwell and they only had one chef. Seems that chef needs to get out of the kitchen and find another job due to the overall low quality of the food presented. No excuses as there was hardly any customers there. At least the staff were apologetic but its not their job, its the management. Dont think our family who live locally will be back. I certainly never will. :(

5 /5 Paul Hollingworth: We walked over to here for dinner, and we werent disappointed. The staff was extremely friendly and a joy to deal with. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We ate inside, but could see many families outside with "free range" children. Its great that they have toys and bikes to keep the kids occupied. There is a lot of parking spaces, but looked fairly full when we were there. If the carpark is full, there are many on-street parking available. We highly recommend this place of you want a relaxed, good quality dinner.

4 /5 Wayne: This should be better, somehow I suspect they had staffing problems. The staff were great but how can I account for an almost 30 minute wait for chips and burgers. The squid was fabulous as were fish burger and signature burger. we enjoyed the artichoke dip and pita. but the waffles were burnt, took forever and had a great serve. But they were burnt. The mac and cheese had great texture and just not enough cheese. I feel like some staff had no showed but who knows. I reiterate the mains were really good. My problem was burnt waffles and mac n cheesed and the delay. It was busy then died down. Perhaps there was afunction on.

1 /5 Shima Sal: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience really deserves one. The steak was extremely fatty and so tough it was nearly impossible to eat. The chicken was undercooked and still had blood in it — completely unacceptable. To make things worse, the burger was raw in the middle. It felt like no attention was paid to proper cooking standards. This is not what you expect when you dine out. Very disappointing.
