2 /5 JoJo Sz: Honestly we looked this up and had high expectations based on the website and the rating but were deeply disappointed. For a place close to the beach you would expect the seafood to be fresh and delicious. The fish tacos were revolting. Looked slapped together, prawns cold yet other parts hot? Seafood platter, calamari the crumbing was white which seemed a bit odd normally crumbed or battered calamari would have some colour? Bug was rubbery, just seemed all bit ‘meh’. Kids said the nuggets were good though, that’s one thing. Kids playroom had equipment covered in chocolate and area around there was really sticky floors and gross. Honestly not sure what to think. We wanted it to be good but just wasn’t. The ladies on the desk were kind though but no one really came to check on us or ask us anything. It has so much potential just needs a lot more care given food wise and to check in on customers.

5 /5 Two Sheds: We loved our experience here. The pumpkin soup was outstanding. Great flavour with just the right amount of heat. The accompanying bread was nice too. My roast lamb was faultless. Perfect amount of meat and veggies perfectly cooked with a lovely gravy. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her osso bucco ravioli too. The service from the young servers was terrific too. Efficient and polite. We loved not having to wait around forever too. The soup was brought out quickly and we were asked if we were ready for our mains. We thought the meal prices were most reasonable too. I’m not sure what the story is with some of the negative reviews here. This is a classic Aussie pub experience and a very good one.

3 /5 Xavstone: Came here for dinner on New Year’s Eve and was overall fairly happy with the food. I ordered the seafood platter for one and was pleasantly impressed. The seafood tasted fresh and, for a waterfront location, was reasonably priced. The platter included oysters, scallops, a small portion of lobster, prawns, and fish and chips. However, the venue itself felt noticeably dated, which detracted from the overall experience. The interior old and did not match the quality of the food, making the space feel tired and in need of an update. The chips were a little soggy and the salad wasn’t dressed, but these were relatively minor issues compared to the venue. As expected on a busy night like New Year’s Eve, the food took some time to arrive, which was understandable. Overall, the staff and food were great, but the outdated venue made the experience less enjoyable. I would still recommend this place for a casual seafood dinner, though the setting could benefit greatly from renovation or modernisation.

1 /5 Todd Spicer: We live local and we have been semi regular customers at this hotel for the past 20 years. Tonight we waited for over an hour for our entree to arrive. When we ‘politely’ asked the girl who was taking orders at the counter if our entree was still coming, we received a completely inappropriate, rude response. Her FOH customer service skills were pretty disgusting and lacked any respect towards customers . A simple, polite question didn’t warrant that response! We ended up receiving our meal around 20minutes after this exchange. By the time we finished our meals, our entree had still not arrived. On leaving we again approached the same individual and asked for a refund for the entree we paid for but never received. She again bit our head off with her response. Unbelievable! Anyway, one of the managers came over and processed our refund and we left. We won’t be back. Plenty of hotels in the area to choose from.

2 /5 Stephen Paull: We have always enjoyed the food at the Dava in the past but were very disappointed with out last visit. The food was delivered within 3 minutes which suggests that it was pre-cooked and kept warm. My fish was mainly batter and very dry; my wifes roast of the day was dry and tough. Probably the worst pub meal we have had for a long time. Time for a new chef !
