3 /5 Ross Jazani: I recently visited Turners Bakehouse Eatery in Mernda. The place has real character, built in the late 1800s, and you can feel that old charm as soon as you walk in. The staff are friendly and helpful, which makes the experience pleasant. The pies are tasty, especially if you pick the right one, but the overall quality is average. Prices are on the higher side for what you get, so it is not the best value in town. The menu is decent and offers enough variety for a casual stop. The area around the cafe is okay, not fancy but fine for a quick visit. It is worth trying once for the history and atmosphere, but not somewhere I would rush back to every week.

5 /5 steve r: Great little spot out the way on a quiet street, the outdoor seating area is just gorgeous with a blue sky and the sun out, shaded areas available got myself the “Turners Famous Brekkie burger” that come with a hash brown and ate it quietly in the shade on one of the nicest mornings of the year. Was ready in only 5 minutes! the nicest after workout breakfasts I’ve had in awhile and the atmosphere is great. I see they do dinners can’t wait to check that out. I noticed fairy lights wrapped around trees and could only imagine the kino!

So friendly, so full of life — the kind of customer service that makes you feel like you’ve just been welcomed into the family. They’ve got that genuine, big-hearted Aussie hospitality that’s hard to beat. Now let’s talk about the food — because wow! The beef was fresh, juicy and packed with flavour. You could tell straight away it was top quality — none of this average stuff. That sandwich was an absolute beauty. And the sticky date pudding? Oh mate… what a cracker. Rich, perfectly balanced, and downright irresistible. I’d happily wrestle a croc for another serve of that! What’s even better is that it’s all incredibly affordable. You’re getting top-notch quality without it costing an arm and a leg — and that’s something special these days. If you’re anywhere near Mernda and you haven’t stopped by Turners Bakehouse yet, you’re missing out on something truly special. This place is a little treasure, and I’ll definitely be back for more.
