Yaki Jin Kew East - VIC

MEE KKE You have to book in advance. There are a lot of customers and the restaurant is quite noisy. The smell of grilled meat is wafting through the air. This branch also has grilled meat, which is good. The meat is delicious. As for the raw fish, I didnt like it that much, especially the salmon carpaccio, which was a scary bright pink. As for the fried food and sushi, it was still okay. I think the other branch is better.

Margaret Powning Always fresh, always friendly! Always busy so you need to book. Also very noisy when this restaurant is full. Some interesting and tasty specials that always sell out. Highly recommend.

BaBa Chef Kew - VIC

Phil Tad Really nice and amazing restaurant with all your Malaysian favourites. You really can’t go wrong with anything from the menu. The food is all delicious and the staff are friendly, welcoming and service is in fairly reasonable timing. The prices are quite good and affordable, but the dinner seafood varieties are a premium, but it is worthwhile to try it once. The dinner is also great and affordable. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant. The pork dishes are amazing but if you want something really yummy, try any of the sweet and sour dishes.

La Q Woodfire Pizza & Italian Restaurant (BYO) - VIC

Anjali Parekh This is best authentic woodfire pizza I have ever had. The garlic focaccia with cheese was so flavourful and the crust was cooked to perfection. The pizza was scrumptious and oh boy the toppings were perfect. The perfect spot for the date night. The staff was so welcoming and warm.

Skinny Dog Hotel - VIC

Normandy C Jr Great pub with a lot of space for dining in. The food menu is brilliant with plenty of popular pub fare on offer. Grateful to have a room at the back with the Melbourne Storm being played on the screen at the time.

Kiraku Japanese All You Can Eat - VIC

Bernard Chan A very satisfying all-you-can-eat experience — finally found a decent buffet restaurant in Melbourne that’s closer to the standard of those in Asia. Service was amazing — super friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. Food variety isn’t huge but totally enough. Most importantly the quality is excellent - especially the fried dishes and skewers. Highly recommend the chicken and beef skewers and chawanmushi! Appetizers, sushi, and sashimi were all above average too. The place is also spacious, clean, and comfortable. Price isn’t the cheapest, but definitely worth it. I saw some reviews saying food came out slow, but we didn’t encounter that problem at all tonight (even though they seemed short-staffed, the dishes still came out fast - note that the restaurant was only half-full tonight). Overall, we’re super happy with the experience and will definitely come back again!

India @ Q by DDs Kitchen - Contemporary Indian Cuisine - VIC

Diana Valentine We recently dined at Indian on Q and were absolutely blown away by the experience. This is not your typical curry house – it’s a genuine celebration of Indian cuisine that transcends the usual high street offerings. From the moment we were seated, we knew we were in for something special. The kitchen sent out several complimentary dishes that showcased their creativity and skill. These weren’t just token starters, but thoughtfully composed plates that displayed both authenticity and artistic flair. Each one was a delightful surprise, featuring flavors and presentations that felt both traditional and innovative. The main curries were exceptional. You can taste the care that goes into every dish – from the depth of the spice blends to the quality of the ingredients. The flavors were complex, nuanced, and perfectly balanced in ways that reminded me why Indian cuisine is considered one of the world’s greatest. Every element on the plate had purpose and precision. Yes, the prices are slightly higher than your average takeaway, but they’re entirely justified. You’re paying for restaurant-quality cooking, premium ingredients, genuine culinary expertise, and an experience that respects the rich traditions of Indian gastronomy. This is food prepared by people who truly understand their craft. If you’re looking for quick and cheap, go elsewhere. But if you want to experience Indian food as it deserves to be eaten – beautifully prepared, thoughtfully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor – this restaurant is an absolute must. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. Highly recommended - yummy lassi too!!
