The facilities are top notch, and the programming is so intentional - it genuinely supports progress no matter what level you’re starting at. The coaching team is second to none: supportive, knowledgeable, and always delivering feedback in a kind and encouraging way. What makes this place truly special, though, is the community. The culture here is incredibly inclusive, supportive, and full of fun - it feels like training with family. A huge part of that comes from Em’s leadership as manager. Em sets the tone with her warmth, energy, and ability to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and inspired. If you’re looking for a gym that challenges you, supports you, and surrounds you with amazing people, 98 South Melbourne is the place.

Safi Logari Absolutely love this gym! The staff are always super friendly, welcoming, and ready to help no matter your fitness level. You can really tell they care about their members — they greet you by name, offer great advice, and keep the place spotless. The atmosphere is positive and motivating without being intimidating. The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s always someone around if you need guidance or a spot. Easily the best gym experience I’ve had — highly recommend!

Mckeira Cumming What a welcoming, motivating and inspiring gym! I did an Engine class at CONDITN Southbank and absolutely LOVED IT. The trainers are so warm and supportive, the vibe was so high and everyone had a smile on their face. Seems like such a family. Could not recommend it more. If you’re looking for a gym where you feel inspired and supported this is the one for you!! SO MUCH FUN!

Mackinley Pollock Listen, I have trained at near every snap in the city of Melbourne AND in multiple snaps overseas and in the U.S. and port Melbourne is without a doubt the best snap that there is. The facilities are amazing, the staff is incredible and the community is kind and supportive! It’s easy to train on your own or with mates as the space is huge and accommodating to any workout style. There are multiple machines so very little lines or wait times to get on the popular ones, multiple racks of dumbbells, kettle bells, fantastic boxing facilities, stretching areas are elite and the lockers are modern, clean and have great lighting! Ample parking and a beautifully designed gym that gets the best golden hour in the city!!

Mk W I’ve had a number of trainers over the past 15 years and none has been as knowledgeable or reliable as Zach. As a time poor professional I need to optimise my efforts at the gym and Zach knows hows to maximise our time together and utilise the MSAC facility for the best results. I have never been stronger. I thank Zach for his patience and for always being fully present in our sessions.

Marissa Frew I joined Leigh’s gym back in 2011 as a member and not long after I started bringing my PT clients here. Southside Fitness isnt just a gym, it’s a welcoming, casual and relaxed vibe that me and my clients have loved over the years. Leigh is always around to have a chat and the members are all really fun and respectful of everyone. This space has gone on to welcome my growing family and my kids love coming here for the occasional hang out. Training here is like training in your own personal space. I highly recommend!

The spacious cafe is a definite highlight – perfect for a post-workout smoothie or coffee. The equipment is high-quality, with plenty of variety to suit all fitness levels, and theres heaps of space, even during busier times. I also love the greenery and natural light, which give the gym a welcoming, relaxed feel rather than the usual industrial look. One of the best perks? Being so close to the beach – there’s nothing better than a dip in the ocean after a good session.

Tegan Hamilton Really well equipped gym with a comfortable atmosphere. Staff and members are really lovely and accommodating. Female friendly with a good range of machines, cables and free weights. 24 hour gym, so you can go in when it suits you. In staffed hours there’s also a great outdoor workout space. Awesome little Prahran gem!

Miles Agnew What a gym!!! Old school vibe and the staff are super friendly. The photos on the wall really amplify the heritage and legacy of this gym, which keeps it all the more motivating. I’m gutted I’ve left Melbourne because I can no longer train here, but I’ll definitely be back!! I was staying in the Nomads hostel around the corner so if you’re staying there it’s super convenient Also this place is insanely good for training legs, you’ll never have to wait for any machine as there are loads of options. Never used a leg press like the one here. If it had a seated hamstring curl it would be perfect, but there are still two hamstrings curl machines anyway. Oh and also the staff have a great taste in music Thanks
