Eagles Nest - Portsea (VIC)

5 /5 leonardo claver: My classmates and I visited Eagles Nest Lookout in Melbourne, and it was an unforgettable experience. The sweeping ocean views were breathtaking, and the cliffs made for a perfect photo backdrop. It was a fun and relaxing spot, ideal for enjoying nature on a holiday.

3 /5 Bill M: A good place to check out on the walk to Fort Nepean, but not a lot of information available. A beautiful place, be sure to keep your eyes open for wildlife - I spotted a swamp wallaby just off the path.

5 /5 Kerbray: A relatively exposed gun battery with some superb views overlooking the bay entrance. This nest once housed Australias large hydro-pneumatic gun in Australia and apparently had a firing range of nearly 10km. This gun emplacement was abandoned in 1911, but the concrete structure still remains.

5 /5 Ulyses Espiritu: It would have been a great walk if it was not too windy. otherwise, beautiful place. Friendly on the knees. There is an option for a bus ride. We opted to walk and enjoy the scenery at our own pace. Bring some snacks, water and sunblock!!!

5 /5 Fergus Zeglar “Zeg”: We stopped at Eagles Nest as part of our National Park walking visit. Access via the sandy walking trail, alternatively, there is a shuttle bus that leaves from the quaratine station carpark. Great views from the small lookout located near the gun placement.
