Quynh Nguyen Queen Victoria Market is a must-visit spot in Melbourne, especially if you love food, culture, and local vibes. The market is full of energy, with a huge variety of fresh produce, meats, seafood, cheeses, and deli items. There are also food stalls offering delicious street food, coffee, and baked goods – perfect for breakfast or lunch. Apart from the food, you’ll find clothes, souvenirs, handmade crafts, and more. It’s a great place to explore, even if you’re just browsing. The atmosphere is lively, friendly, and full of character, and it gives you a real taste of Melbourne’s local life. It can get busy, especially on weekends, but that’s part of the fun. Everything feels authentic, and the vendors are usually helpful and passionate about their products. Don’t forget to check out the night markets if they’re on – live music, food trucks, and a great vibe. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists!

Mate Antolos Very lucky to find this little gem 4.2 km from the Melbourne CBD. Parking along Alexandra Avenue or close to Como Landing where the punt ferry operates on Saturday and Sunday and public holidays from 11-4 pm. Free ferry as well as entry to the island. Opposite is a lovely cafe called Kanteen. As well as the walking paths there are sculptures and picnic and bbq facilities. There are also toilets and the old scout hall which is a gallery. Worth the visit in this cost of living crisis. Also note the island can be hired for private events.

Brent Marriott Not very tall wheel, but it has nice views and a comfortable ride.

Dhana Ganeshpuri Observatory Gate Lodge is at the Entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. Its the Meeting Place for Walking Tours and where Friends of the Botanical Gardens gather.

Gabriela Sottile Russo Amazing museum!!! I visited the exhibition about the history of the moving image multiple times, definitely plan in more than just 60 min for that exhibition, it is amazing, super interesting and interactive. Also Tom was one of the most enthusiastic museum employees I have ever encountered, he definitely knows and loves what he talks about, a great guy!

Matty Ferguson Buckingham Reserve – A Must-Visit Playground! Such a fantastic local park! Buckingham Reserve has something for everyone, but the highlight is definitely the flying fox – fast, fun, and perfect for kids who love a bit of adventure. The playground equipment is modern, well-maintained, and caters to a variety of age groups. The open green spaces, shady spots, and picnic areas make it great for a family day out. Theres also plenty of seating and clean facilities, which is always a plus. Highly recommend stopping by if youre in the area – it’s one of the best playgrounds around!

Moni V Great playground for kids in Cruickshank park. The dinosaur slide is the main feature, but there are lots of other sensory play equipment pieces as well as a barbecue area, tables and chairs, and water fountains. It is also right next to the community gardens.

Nurcihan Körpe There were literally thousands of flying foxes covering the trees. Every tree in the forest was packed with them, hanging in clusters and making constant noise. It was the first time I had ever seen so many in one place. I also spotted a huge spider for the first time, which made the whole experience even more surreal.

Hayley Meyer Beautiful, open area for dogs to run, explore and play! Easy walkways for people to walk along, stunning surrounds and lots of places for your pup to inspect! I thoroughly enjoyed making our way in and around the bush land, getting my feet wet in the creek and watch my boy run and have fun!
