Footscray Community Arts - VIC

Nic Casanova Amazing, diverse, eye opening space for local art and artists community. Staff area very receptive and helpful. I had many questions, about price listings, artist development programmes, etc. Grace at the desk was generous with her time and information. She also mentioned the future reaching focus of FCAC to support the Aboriginal and indigenous communities as well as African diaspora community which is so a part of Footscray. I really value that FCAC is prioritising voices that need more air time (for several reasons).

Rainforest Gallery - VIC

Sammy Xingh Rainforest Gallery, East Warburton – A Must-See Spot A hidden gem in East Warburton, the Rainforest Gallery offers a serene escape into nature. The elevated boardwalks wind through lush temperate rainforest, providing stunning views of towering trees and vibrant greenery. It’s an easy and peaceful walk, perfect for nature lovers and photographers. The site is free to visit, well-maintained, and offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Victoria’s rainforests up close. A great stop for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Frankston Regional Foreshore Playground - VIC

John Locke Children love playing in the playground. Parents chat, watch smartphones and have lunch on the chairs. Family friendly. There are swings, slides, BBQ equipment, public toilets and other facilities. Bring your kids to the beach, Frankston Pier, broad walk or a cafe after playing.

Bunarong Park - VIC

Jade Green Great place for a quick run, nature walk, toddler wander etc. A few hills but nothing too steep, good views, no steep drop offs or sketchy bits. My toddler was able to do the whole loop on his own.

Frankston Nature Conservation Reserve (Parks Victoria) - VIC

Maria Ahm CARPARK ENTRY via LAWSON AVENUE - WATER WAY - JEREMY WAY. Maps took us a different route which ended up in a dead end residential street. Only one carpark entrance into the place but many pedestrian access points. Gates open 6am - 6pm noted on signage at carpark entry on 20/11/2024. Nice location for a park run!! With many walking/running tracks and also bike tracks too. Different circuits available throughout the place. No toilets at carpark. Huge water area to canoe or standup paddle board. No pets allowed. A beautiful place to explore the nature and see all the beautiful species of wildlife!

Lower Sweetwater Creek Nature Reserve - VIC

Aaron Donohue This reserve is an extraordinary gem in Frankston. Absolutely beautiful walking trails teaming with birds and natural foliage. I could have spent a whole day exploring. My kids loved it. There was a very accessible playground for them but they preferred all the creeks and trails. The granites is a nice spot to loiter for awhile. I highly recommend visiting.

Olivers Hill Beach - VIC

John Locke I prefer Olivers Hill Beach to Frankston Beach because there are fewer people, more beautiful rocks and cleaner sea water than Frankston Beach. Go swimming, sunbathing, fishing, jogging along the broad walk, watch the sunset, seagulls, boats and waves and do other activities with your kids, friends and family in this attractive place. The water and winds are cold under the hot sun. You can buy coffee, fish and chips from a van. The pier and ramp are close.

Frankston Beach - VIC

Kel Benzie Brilliant, super clear water. Great vibes, busy on summer days. Wonderful board walk along the beach with beautiful scenery. (About 5kms from waves restaurant to boat ramp) coffee & food vans and cafes sprinkled along the beach. Such a favourite.
