Sean Nairn Located in a small reserve in Melbourne’s north, this monument commemorates the agreement to create the 8 hour workday. The spire has ‘888’ at its tip symbolising 8 hours for work, 8 for sleep and 8 hours for relaxation. Unless you’re a super fan of labour laws probably not worth a special visit but drop by if you’re in the area.

satish katyare Point Gellibrand Lookout in Williamstown offers stunning panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne city skyline. Situated within the historically significant Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park, the lookout provides a vantage point to appreciate the areas rich maritime past, including the nearby Timeball Tower and the site of Victorias first settlement. While the "lookout" is more of a natural high point, the surrounding park boasts excellent facilities like walking paths, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Its easily accessible by car and public transport. Weather can impact the experience, and a formal viewing platform is absent. Overall, Point Gellibrand Lookout is a worthwhile visit for its beautiful views and historical significance, making it a great spot for a relaxed outing.

John Locke There is a lot of space for kids and friends to play, family gatherings, birthday parties, sunbathing, sports, picnic and dog walking. The BBQ facilities are clean. However, there is a lot of dust and flies because it is close to the road. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.

Dr. Ramakant Rana Altona Miniature Railway is an absolute gem for families and train enthusiasts alike! The volunteer-run hobby club offers a delightful experience with its miniature train rides, perfect for both kids and adults who are young at heart. The beautifully maintained scaled diesel and steam engines provide a charming ride along the 1.5-kilometre track, surrounded by a welcoming and scenic environment. The passion and dedication of the volunteers shine through, making the experience even more special. Visiting on the third Sunday of the month is a treat, and it’s a fantastic way to spend a few hours with loved ones. The affordable prices and friendly atmosphere make it even better. Highly recommend this unique and nostalgic outing!

Chang Guan It’s a fantastic experience in the Gaol especially the City Watch House tour. You get to experience being arrested and locked in one of those cells in the Watch House which is just next to the Gaol. As its closure (1994 I reckon) is relatively recent comparing to the Gaol which is basically operated during the Gold Rush, you get to feel the true jail vibe. The Gaol itself has a lot of history and artifacts, it presents stories of iconic prisoners and their historical backgrounds. And if you’re a big fan of Ned Kelly, it can be a brilliant place for his stories.

Madison Winfield Had an absolutely amazing time at the LEGO Star Wars exhibition! The models were incredibly detailed and creative — some of them were massive and truly impressive to see in person. The whole space was interactive and fun for all ages. I especially enjoyed the hands-on activities. Whether youre a LEGO fan or just looking for something unique and fun to do, I highly recommend checking it out. A fantastic experience!

Shai N You can take the train to footscray and then 406 bus to reach the spot. The trail is really long and nice with all the trees and the reserve. Today was the perfect weather to enjoy the breeze and sweat it out. There are benches to take a pause from the walk to appreciate the nature around you. However, beware of the snakes. I did encounter one and have added the video here.
