Jacks Beach Reserve - (VIC)

5 /5 wakarimasen71: Gorgeous place to explore . Not a swimming sunbathing beach but a mangrove-filled historical ,natural environment to explore . There’s a little picnic area at the start with immaculate bathroom facilities (when we were there ) . The signage could be a little clearer pointing out which way to go for the board walk path or Jack’s beach historic site with tanning pit. If you have your back to the car park take the right path to Jacks “beach” or take the left pathway to start the magnificent board walk . We loved it and will definitely be back for a bigger walk . We saw Ibis , Pelican and Swans !

5 /5 Rodney Stuckey: Excellent boardwalk trail through the Bitten wetlands. Path is flat and wheelchair friendly. Large range of bird life through the mangroves. The no dogs on the walk due to the abundance of native wildlife.

2 /5 Michael Pless: Id happily give the location more stars, but whoever is supposed to be caring for this location needs to be aware that massive, deep puddles in the muddy car park will turn people away. This interesting part of our colonial history is quite in need of extensive TLC. There is a toilet block that I had no need for. There are also several paths, although I used only the one that led me to the tanning pit. On my next visit, Im likely to explore further. The paths are mostly good and appear to be level. So that those with mobility issues ought to be okay... although there is a stile of sorts that might prove challenging. I spent about an hour at the tanning pit taking photos, but otherwise, its several minutes walk for a brief look around and then return. The "beach" is rocky and likely hurt the feet of any waders. Not a place to swim. So, if youre in the area, its a worthwhile diversion.

4 /5 Azieñaj: This is not a beach but in fact a place to explore and appreciate nature. Take your camera, get off your phone and listen, see, feel everything this walk has to offer. I was annoyed as I left seeing a local take a dog in to the area. Other than that it was an amazing walking experience. Toilets were clean and a small picnic area was available with a BBQ.

5 /5 JP Willigenburg: Secluded and quiet. One of my fav places to sit and relax. Our kids love to explore the mangroves.
