1 /5 Robert Corser: I visited The Beauty Lounge Geelong today hoping to book a facial or some skin treatment, but I was flatly refused service because I’m a man. The employee informed me they don’t offer any services for men—no explanation, no apology, just a blunt ‘no.’ It’s 2025, and I can’t believe a business would still openly discriminate based on gender. I wasn’t asking for anything unusual, just a standard skin treatment they advertise to others. The lack of inclusivity is shocking, and it left me feeling unwelcome and dismissed. If they’re going to exclude half the population, they should at least make it clear on their website or signage so people don’t waste their time. I’ll be taking my money elsewhere—somewhere that values all customers equally.
