The Briars - Mount Martha (VIC)

Marilyn Clews awesome heritage house and gardens and they regularly have concerts in the gardens and in the house with afternoon tea and nibbles included in the ticket. Our local concert place in the Mornington Peninsula. Definitely recommend!

sventek Beautifully maintained rose gardens here. Its quite a large sized garden with an abundance of roses when visited in March 2025 on a Saturday. Free entry with free parking just outside. Theres a donation box at the entrance (though you can donate online as well instead). Large rotunda in the centre provides shelter from the rain, ramped entrance available. No toilets, but you could walk to the playground area about 400m south and theres toilets there. Not a lot of mature trees to allow picnic shading but some spots available. The site also mentions a "viewing platform" which we missed, unless they just meant the front deck of one of the housing buildings atop some stairs. The ground/grass feels like it would be super muddy and sticky if it got some rain prior. Overall the rose garden delivers your expectation to view large variety of roses should you visit during season, typically around Oct - April. Thank you to the volunteers who made this possible, my toddler and I enjoyed our visit ❤️

Trinh Dau This is an ideal spot for watching the sunrise and sunset, with a scene that is not only beautiful but also tranquil. The expansive view and serene environment help to alleviate stress, while the sounds of the gentle sea waves, light breeze, and birdsong provide a relaxing and healing experience.

Doc Royston A beautiful walk! And some lovely cafes close by for a post or pre refreshment. Highly recommend.

Toby H Excellent spot - the hill is a great walk, theres a nursery at the bottom and a cafe as well. Decent views, but the best bit is definitely the Briars walking tracks. Easy walks of a range of lengths.

Tom Chen Walked the whole loop around the lake in 3 hours (13km). Very flat and easy trail with nice scenaries along the way.

George Murdoch Great place to walk edog. Some absolutely beautiful eucalypts to be seen.

Jawad Arain Bay Trail West is one of the most wonderful rides in Western suburbs in Melbourne where you’ll enjoy wetlands, beaches, and views of Melbourne and the bay. The ride commences at Aircraft Station and ends at Williamstown Station. Initially the route follows Skeleton Creek down to Altona Meadows before going along Bay West Trail via Altona and Williamstown. The ride is mostly along bike paths, and is mainly flat. Aircraft Station to Williamstown, Distance: 21 km.

Ajay Sharma We recently visited the RAAF Museum as a family, and it turned out to be a truly memorable and enriching experience—especially for the kids! The museum offers a fascinating look into the history of the Royal Australian Air Force, with a special focus on aircraft used during World War I and II. The exhibits are very well-presented and informative, making it easy for children to learn while still having fun. Our kids were thrilled to see the vintage planes up close and learn about their roles in history. The interactive displays and friendly staff added to the experience, helping them understand how aviation has evolved over time. It was a great way to spark curiosity and give the whole family a new perspective on Australia’s military aviation history. Highly recommend for families looking for an educational and engaging day out!
