Mel B One of my fave wine bars by date. Great quality of simple classics. The roasted duck was unreal char and fatty goodness. Couldn’t pick a favourite. Friend loved the scallop the most, but highlights for me were the duck, moreton bay bug cassarecce pasta and milk bun, paired with their refreshing wine selection.

maria We visited this pizza restaurant tonight around 7pm and had an amazing experience from start to finish. My parents had been searching for hours to find a good pizza place in the area, and I’m so glad they chose this one. Even though it was our first time here, it genuinely felt like one of the best pizza restaurants we’ve been to which made the experience even more impressive. While we were still outside looking at the menu, one of the staff members came over straight away, offered to recommend some of his favourites, and asked if we had any allergies which was very thoughtful and professional. We ordered a chicken and mushroom rigatoni, spaghetti bolognese, a Hawaiian pizza, and a Capricciosa pizza. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. The Hawaiian pizza especially stood out. Hawaiian is my favourite flavour, and this was genuinely one of the best Hawaiian pizzas I’ve had in a long time perfectly balanced, full of flavour, and incredibly satisfying. What really made the experience stand out was the customer service. At many restaurants, staff are polite but quite formal, which can sometimes feel a bit distant. Here, it was completely different. The two brothers who served us were friendly, funny, and full of energy. They cracked jokes, checked in on us often, and made us feel genuinely welcome and comfortable. Their positive attitude created such a relaxed, fun atmosphere and made the whole experience even better. Even though we didn’t stay for dessert, the dessert menu looked amazing and definitely gave us another reason to come back. This review was written by both of the sisters sitting at the table not the parents and we can confidently say this was a fantastic experience. Great food, great people, and great energy. Highly recommend!

Mark Franklin I visited purely to try Saigon Secrets Banh Mi and wasnt disappointed. In fact I rate their delight as one of the best Ive tasted in Melbourne. Fresh roll, generous serving of juicy pork with enough crunch and the sauce is delicious!

Tim Wang This place was an absolute delight. Run by an experienced and passionate owner and his staff were an equally warm and welcoming. We ordered the “cigars” and a platter to share with a smoothie and beer. Everything was done to perfection- the meats were juicy tender and well marinated. Our baby is usually a very picky eater but they made an exception for the food here!

Ryan Bresler An incredible jewel in the heart of the north. The service is warm and hospitable — the fit out is stunning. We had the vodka rigatoni (make sure to add the chicken cutlet) and the chili prawn pasta which has the perfect amount of spicy giddyup! Can’t recommend highly enough — amazing cocktails as well

chris mason We had a delightful experience last night to celebrate an 18th birthday. The room is set up beautifully. Gorgeous and well lit. Intimate and stylish. The soundtrack is contemporary and engaging without being intrusive. Whoever curated this playlist knows their music! We started with a round of cocktails. The bartender was happy to make us cocktails that were not on the list. All three were delicious and well presented. The service was professional, knowledgeable and well received. Very Melbourne! Casual without being over the top. Engaging and friendly. When meals were served, often the chef and his sous would serve all three at once, placing the three plates at exactly the same moment. The wait staff would then explain the ingredients in detail. The food was magnificent. Again, very Melbourne and very French all at once! We had the six course menu and there was the perfect amount of food and the perfect combination throughout all courses. Highlights were the cuttlefish, the pork, and the oysters. Ingredients were well balanced and interesting. Flavours were contemporary and exciting. One of us had the matching wines. This was an excellent choice. A range of local, national, and international drinks was served throughout the night. Each time, the sommelier would explain the drinks and the reason for matching to each dish. We loved this restaurant and hope to return really soon.

Angus Harrison So excited to finally have the chance to come here. The staff were super friendly, and didn’t hesitate to repeat the specials no matter how many times we asked. Pasta was superb, probably some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Steak had a fantastic sear, super tender, and had an extremely generous portion of chips. Only downside was the cabbage role which was unfortunately just a bit too salty but very enjoyable apart from that.

Sam Todorovic Its only taken us 12 months since living in Melbourne to find a top Italian restaurant. Could not fault a thing. The service was excellent and quick. The food was excellent and generous portions. My partner had ricotta and spinach cannelloni which was delicious. I had the spaghetti marinara in Napoli sauce, again delicious. We shared the bruschetta, rocket salad and a Tiramisu plus 3 lemon granitas. Could not fault a thing with any of it. Highly recommend and we will be coming back regularly.

Lisa Giusti Gestri Located in the former Italian district, Carlton, the DOC Osteria is still providing Italian food! The staff is truly Italian as the food servede. So, if you are ready to taste genuine Italian food, this is the place to go. Then, if you are still hungry, you can buy (next door) delicious food to bring home too. It could be busy, noisy, and a bit expensive but you won’t be disappointed!
