1 /5 John: We went to Gildas Restaurant in Reservoir a few times for dinner, and it was great. We also booked it for a private function, which also was great. The food was delicious, and nobody left hungry. So we decided to book again for another buffet-style function, and our guests knew the food was plentiful and delicious. However, this time was a disappointment. Our first course was antipasto platters, which wasnt enough for all our guests to get a serve each. We were promised bottomless pizza, but were given all margaritas rather than a variety of pizzas. There was one green salad, one pasta salad, and some lasagna, and penne pasta, which was rather ordinary. We also got some calamari, which was scattered sparsely on top of large bowls of chips. When we asked for more, we were told they were out of calamari. We were also meant to get two regular-sized bottles of soft drinks per person, which, when we asked, were told wasnt included. But we did get them eventually. Then we were charged more than our original quote, and told us they were charging the kids adult prices. One of the kids was two years old, so didnt warrant getting charged an adult price. The reason for charging extra, they said that they were not making any profit. In the past, this restaurant owner has been very good but this time we just felt that we didnt get what we previously had gotten in the past. We felt he was skimping on food and cutting corners.
Two of our guest were going to book up coming functions based on our first function but have now decided not too. We also won’t be booking again.
