5 /5 Nick: Food is exceptional, atmosphere is perfectly blended and the customer service is perfect to a fault. So; let’s break it down…
Atmosphere: *****
Lunch atmosphere. Looking at the outside tables for the sun dwellers, and the internal shade lovers. This place can accommodate the chill sun vibe or the in house dining you want. The decor, especially the interior, is dripping with high tone critique and Italian excellence. The best of all, the shade blocks (centre placed) provide a great divide from those who want an intimate lunch date, from the casual sunbathing people-watchers. Really incredible use of space. Excellent.
Customer Service: ****
The restaurant was about half full when we attended lunch. The service staff were very attentive, caring, excellent to deal with but seemed to not have sectioned service areas. We were check on by 3 different representatives, all of which were excellent but felt over serviced and over stressed to perform. Their dedication to their craft was excellent and definitely top tier, but one to one personalisation service adds care as well as investment in your customers. Outstanding work.
Food (why we are here): *****
Order: Bruschetta (Entree), Pork Belly (Entree), Pappardelle (Main) & Pollo In Bianco (Main)
Bruschetta (Entree): This was the most incredible freshly cooked Bruschetta I have had for a long while. I took 3 pictures of it, I was that impressed. The tomato’s were rich, organic and the herbs and balsamic were all on point. The fresh, fire cooked bread really was the Game winner! Highly recommend!
Pork Belly (Entree): Was a juicy indulgence that was cooked perfectly. The addition of the pumpkin mash and chimichurri worked as an excellent contrast. Recommend for Pork lovers.
Pappardelle: Requested Parmesan but this was not because it lacked flavour. The dish alone was full of flavour but that little bit of fresh Parmesan really took it over the top! The lamb melted on the tongue, the pasta was exceptional and the sauce was rich and delicious! Highly recommend!
Pollo In Bianco: Delicious mushrooms in a creamy mustard wine sauce that you soak up with the chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. The pesto added a nice herbal cut to the richness but it was limited - if you try to keep it even, the round flavours all work together brilliantly. Highly recommend!
Overall: *****
Over servicing is not a fault, it shows excellent dedication to craft. Everything about this establishment points to their want of absolute perfection for their customers and their experience. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is dynamic mix of sophistication and sun-fun social (lunch). It really was excellent, Thank Soho restaurant and bar!
