5 /5 Stefan Heaton: This is one of the best places to get authentic south indian food but note that it is very small and you should reserve a table if coming during peak hour. I have tried a few dishes from here on multiple occasions but mainly opt for the dosa, non-veg thali, and fish fry. All of these are really high quality and some of the best south indian food you can get in Melbourne and definitely the overall best in the nearby area. All the food was fresh, flavourful and not too oily or salty - usually a good sign as the cooks/chefs arent trying to compensate for lack of flavour. The food came out fast and was well presented. Talking about the stand outs - the fish fry was pomfret and was really tasty, I found it to be the perfect addition to the Thali. I had the non-veg thali which came with chicken curry, mutton curry (I choose to get 2 chicken curries instead), 2 veg dishes, sambar, rasam, Chicken 65, yoghurt, biriyani, rice, appalams, and Kesari. Overall the thali was really good - most of the dishes within were very tasty and authentic. I didn’t really like the Kesari here as it had a rosemary after-taste. Finally the dosa, sambar and chutney were authentic and very tasty - exactly what I was expecting considering the rest of the food that I ate here.
