5 /5 Alexandra Brewin: We had a fantastic day at Ballarat Wildlife Park! It was my daughter’s dream to pat a kangaroo, and it absolutely came true – the animals were so friendly and gentle. The staff were all incredibly kind and clearly love what they do, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The park itself was clean, simple, and very well maintained, and it was great to see how well the animals are cared for. The cafe had a small menu, but the meals and coffee were both really good. Overall, a great experience at a very reasonable price – highly recommended!

Every ranger we met was knowledgeable, warm, and eager to share stories about the animals, their habits, and the park’s conservation efforts. Their enthusiasm is infectious and adds a deeply personal touch to the visit. The highlight? Hand-feeding free-roaming kangaroos! Being able to get so close, to feel their soft fur and watch them interact gently with kids and adults alike, is pure magic. And then there’s Crunch, the massive saltwater crocodile—seeing him up close is both humbling and awe-inspiring. Koalas, wombats, emus, reptiles, Tasmanian devils… the list goes on, and the encounters feel personal rather than commercial. The park strikes a perfect balance between education, conservation, and wonder. Whether you’re a family with children, a tourist wanting to experience Australia’s wildlife up close, or even a local looking for a heartwarming day out—Ballarat Wildlife Park is a must-visit. 5 /5 Lingfeng Liu: Ballarat Wildlife Park might just be the most enjoyable zoo I’ve ever visited. It’s not the biggest, but the experience was incredibly fun and interactive. Being able to walk among the free-roaming kangaroos and feed them was such a highlight — they were so gentle and friendly! The staff were lovely and very knowledgeable, and we got to see iconic Australian animals like koalas, wombats, and even Tasmanian devils up close. There’s something really special about how open and relaxed the park feels. It’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals. Absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Ballarat!

5 /5 Elizabeth Moyle: Absolutely love the Ballarat Wildlife Park! My 4yo and I had such a fun day looking at all of the animals and feeding the kangaroos. From cute Koalas, Tassie Devils and beautiful Tigers to the massive 5 metre Crocodile named Crunch and the reptile house, this place has something for everyone. The staff are so friendly and the animal presentations are very informative and interesting. The whole park atmosphere is very relaxed and I would highly recommend a visit next time you are in Ballarat. I will definitely be going back!

5 /5 Jo Y: love this place so much. Ive been here 4 times. And always want to come back. Kangaroo food at the entrance is not necessary. They all well fed and lazy to move. Very safe and calm to pet. All the animal presentations are fun. Staff are super friendly. Highly recommend for family.
