Pirianda Garden - VIC

Anita Harris Thoroughly beautiful, particularly in Autumn. A variety of trails head down, up and around the park (be prepared for a moderate uphill walk to return to the carpark) and it is all beautiful. In fact a few spots are simply stunning. Paths and occasional stairs were in good condition when I visited, and there was some terrific fungi here and there. There are toilets (including a disabled toilet), a medium sized gravel carpark and a small gazebo. If there hasnt been too much rain, the ground toward the top may be nice for a picnic, and there is a picnic table near the entry point.

Arun Chandran From the carpark, there is a nice lookout with views towards Cardinia reservoir, and across the road is one of the best view of the Yarra valley. Be sure to pick a good day to visit. There are a few picnic tables available. Outsiders are rarely aware of this location.

Glenfern Valley Bushlands - VIC

Thirsty Herb Had a very pleasant walk through here today, around 6km (Explored some side trails) but it has a little of bit of everything. Pretty little Creek running through the Valley, hills to climb, nice flat sections with wide paths and plenty of wildlife. (Watch for Snakes). Bit shout out to "Friends of Glenfern Valley Bushlands" who do a fantastic job of keeping the Reserve clean and tidy.

SkyHigh Mount Dandenong - VIC

Koonthos Koonthus hazy beauty, characteristic of a sunset or sunrise viewed from an elevated vantage point. In the foreground, the dark silhouettes of trees create a textured edge, their forms softened by the distance and the atmospheric perspective. Beyond the trees, a vast expanse of land stretches out, gradually fading into a soft, muted palette of grays and browns. The air seems thick with a light mist or perhaps the remnants of the days heat, obscuring the details of the landscape below and lending an ethereal quality to the view. In the far distance, a faint suggestion of a city skyline emerges from the haze. The buildings appear as delicate, almost dreamlike shapes on the horizon, their presence a subtle reminder of human activity amidst the grandeur of nature. The sky above is a gradient of soft, warm tones. To the right, the light is more intense, hinting at the suns recent presence or imminent arrival, casting a gentle golden glow. This light gradually softens towards the left, blending into pale blues and creams, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The overall impression is one of peacefulness and quiet contemplation. The hazy distance softens the harshness of the world, inviting the viewer to appreciate the subtle beauty of the landscape and the gentle transition of light across the sky. Its a moment captured in time, where the vastness of nature meets the delicate touch of light and atmosphere.
