Werribee Open Range Zoo - VIC

Kara Murray One of our favourite places to visit! We use our memberships to visit regularly and are never disappointed. The new Elephant Trail is nothing short of amazing. It’s a great enclosure for the elephants and it really well thought out and designed for the public, too. It does require a little bit of walking but definitely is worth it. Zoo volunteers are friendly and very knowledgeable. Safari bus was awesome. Lots of fun and educational items to buy at the gift shop. Lots of ways to get involved in animal conservation and protecting their habitat.

Werribee Park - VIC

Michael King I will share pictures. I think they speak for themselves. Beautiful sprawling gardens. Small woodlands inhabited by flying foxes, pheasants, ducks, rabbits and other creatures. The land is massive and filled with historical areas. From a large mansion, accessible with a small fee, to a small sun dial and even further to a beautiful lake. I highly recommend it.

Alowyn Gardens - VIC

Mary Mathews This is one of my 2 favourite gardens in Victoria (other being Forest Glade Gardens). The main reason is the Wisteria and I love Wisteria. I went at the end of September and it was really beautiful it is over a big walk way so it dangled over the walkway. It’s really lovely I think another month later would have been even better for more bloom. The maze hedge was cool, and lots of different trees and plants to explore and a paddock out the back with very cute cows. Don’t think they were part of the gardens but I went and said hello. The cafe was okay. We ended up going next door to the Chocolaterie.

Punt Road Wines - VIC

Richard Little Cheeseboard and cider make this a perfect lunchtime stop. The venue is popular and offer cellar door experiences, cider tastings plus a picnic lunch where you can make your own picnic hamper. Outside there were benches and picnic blankets and some live guitar music to enjoy. Service is friendly and welcoming too. Ken McDowell I walked along the track with my wife recently. It was a beautiful and tranquil walk. It will be even better when the trail opens to Yarra Glen (cant wait!)
