4 /5 J & D: Felt like some Vietnamese takeaway and thought we woukd try Bamboo Garden as an alternative to our regular place. I must say, that we were very happy with our meals.
I was able to get a free park right out the front in Keilor Road. The place isnt much to look at, but as long as the place is clean and the food is good, who cares. I was amazed at the expansive size of the restaurant. It is huge!!
The atmosphere was as you would expect in a restaurant of this type,.with lots of diners, some large families, some smaller groups or couples, all smiling and tucking into their meals with gusto.
The staff member that served me was friendly and engaging, who took my order, before reading it back to me and acknowledging our meal preferences regarding allergies. He then directed me to a very comfortable seating area while waiting for our meals. As suggested, the food was cooked and ready to go 15 minutes later.
I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed all of the meals and the portion sizes were bigger than what we normally receive. Great value for money!
The prawn spring rolls were jam packed full if fresh prawns abd were scrumptious. The prawn rice paper rolls were also tasty, but a little heavy on the noodles. The salt and pepper chicken pieces were tasty and cooked to perfection. The Vietnamese peawn coleslaw was beautiful, with fresh ingredients and once again, ample prawns and the chilli beef and vegetable stir fry with SFR was the standout dish. YUM!!
Overall, I am glad we gave this place a try. Would we cime back for another meal? YOU BETCHA!!!
