5 /5 Carmen Zirafi: Jade Kew is hands down one of my favorite places to celebrate Chinese New Year! Located in Kew, this authentic Chinese restaurant never disappoints. Each year, we look forward to enjoying their outstanding, flavor-packed dishes that truly capture the essence of traditional Chinese cuisine. A standout memory was our visit for the melon soup, which was absolutely fantastic! Just last Sunday, we enjoyed a delightful spread featuring fresh oysters, tender beef, and delicious fish. Every dish was bursting with freshness and authenticity. The owner is incredibly warm and inviting, always ready to recommend the right dishes and ensures we get the freshest options. It’s clear they take pride in their food and service! I also love that during Chinese New Year, you can experience the lively lion dance, which adds to the festive atmosphere. I highly recommend Jade for anyone looking for an authentic dining experience, whether its during the Lunar New Year or any time of year!

It’s easy to settle in and start plotting what to order next. They run a wide range of Cantonese dishes, from classic seafood and claypots to roast meats and home-style stir-fries—generous portions, traditional flavours, and plenty of choices for a proper family-style spread. Even the usual suspects feel well-executed and consistent. The lunch specials are the fun twist: uncommon combos like ox offal dishes that hit that nostalgic, saucy note, plus soup-based rice options that are hard to find elsewhere. It’s the kind of midday lineup that keeps things interesting without breaking the bank.

4 /5 M MM: The sweet and sour pork is very delicious. The eggplant pot would taste even better with some added spice. The lemon chicken has a texture reminiscent of the fish in fish and chips. The dessert is crispy banana, but the outer layer is a bit too thick.

5 /5 GG Shopping: Authentic Chinese restaurant with many traditional dishes to choose from. Great for family get togethers. We were a family of 9 people and we all enjoyed the meal so much, there were no leftovers. We especially liked the live fish(coral trout) which was delicious and fresh. The special orders also came out as requested. The staff were friendly and helpful.
