3 /5 Darrell Hamilton: Nice enough place, with a layout very similar to Rashays. If you’ve been to one, you’ll know the general vibe and setup.
I tend to rate restaurants on three things: (1) food, (2) service, and (3) atmosphere. On this visit, everything sat comfortably in the “reasonable” category. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but nothing disappointed either. Not great, not terrible — just average. A bit of a pity, really, as it felt like a missed opportunity to turn first-time local diners into regulars.
Entrée
We started with the mozzarella sticks and eggplant chips. Both were enjoyable, especially the eggplant chips — crisp, crunchy, and full of flavour. These are definitely worth ordering.
Mains
For mains we chose the Pollo e Fungi, Gnocchi Basil Pesto, and two porterhouse steaks (one with mash, one with chips). Everything arrived together, which is always appreciated, and all dishes were piping hot with fresh-tasting ingredients. We couldn’t fault the mains — everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered.
Dessert
We couldn’t resist trying the house desserts: tiramisu, chocolate volcano cake, and panna cotta. Clean plates all round and no complaints whatsoever.
Overall
The food and service were good, though not memorable. That said, as locals, we’re happy to give the place another go and hope it finds its stride. Second chances are earned — and we’re willing to offer one.
