2 /5 Jen GB: We dined at Mr Curtis recently and while the location is great, unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing.
Firstly, this venue is not kid-friendly, which is important to note for families. Ordering is QR-code only with no physical menus, which already felt inconvenient, especially when issues arose.
The pricing is extremely high for the portion sizes. Servings were small and did not reflect the cost at all. To make matters worse, the service was very disorganised. Our drinks order had to be followed up three times, and each time a different waitress asked whether the order had even been placed — despite it clearly being ordered online via the QR system.
The worst part was the food service. Meals were brought out staggered, meaning no one ate together. My pizza was missing entirely. After waiting over 30 minutes, I followed up four separate times, and it still hadn’t arrived. By the time I asked for a refund, the rest of the table had already finished most of their meals. Only then was I told the pizza was “coming now”.
The manager did come out and offered complimentary drinks, which we declined as we had already ordered everything we needed. She then offered to refund our drinks, which was a nice gesture and appreciated given the long wait and confusion.
Overall, despite the good location, the poor service, long waits, lack of organisation, overpriced small portions, and lack of family friendliness make it hard to recommend. There is definitely room for improvement, especially in service coordination and value for money.
