1 /5 Melbourne Reviewer: We visited The Bread Spot in Langwarrin and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
First, the pies were extremely thin. My steak, bacon & cheese pie (listed on the menu as just “bacon & cheese”) was overly salty and cost $6.90 definitely not worth it. My husband ordered what was listed as an egg & bacon pie (quiche), but it was overcooked, damaged around the edges, and not even a full pie.
I also decided to try a roll because a friend had spoken so highly about it. The rolls are advertised as being around $8+ and include three salads plus a choice of meat. However, when we were served by the younger brunette girl, she was very pushy about us adding extra salads without telling us that they cost extra. I clearly said we only wanted the three salads included, She was insisting to get more salads without explaining there would be an extra charge. The same happened with the eggs no mention of extra cost not even until checkout.
Her attitude was rude and dismissive, both towards me and my husband, which made the whole experience unpleasant.
To make things worse, they don’t even heat up the rolls. And I honestly don’t understand how mayo can be considered “extra” for a roll when it doesn’t come with any sauce to begin when a sandwich roll is meant to have sauce as standard. The roll itself was l the size of my fist, yet it’s $8+, and that’s before any extras. They only serve hot coffees (no iced options), and the meat provided was shredded, cold, and looked like processed meat rather than fresh roast chicken. Even the lettuce first thing in the morning was already browning.
Lastly, we ordered two cappuccinos. Mine had no froth and barely any coffee flavour not what a cappuccino should be. The younger blonde staff member was polite and friendly, but the brunette girl really needs to work on her customer service skills.
Overall, the food was poor quality, overpriced, and the service from one staff member was unprofessional. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for.
