Phoenix Soars Kitchen - VIC

FeiFei Han This place is my go-to for a fast and tasty dinner! The BBQ pork belly and roast duck are absolutely delicious, and there are plenty of other great options to choose from. Pro tip: Go early to avoid the queue! I also love that they offer seasonal specials—always fun to try something new. The food is consistently fantastic, and I sincerely hope this spot stays around forever. Highly recommend!

Hawker Huat - Doncaster - VIC

Agnes L If you miss the hawker food in Singapore, you should give this place a try. This is the only place that I can find Singapore style breakfast items in Melbourne. Not exactly the same but close enough to bring back the good memories. Been here several times and the food has been consistent and service was always friendly.

Bambys - VIC

Siew Kiat Tai Located in the busy Jackson Court district is this unassuming Vietnamese shop. My family decided to go for lunch on a Sunday. The place was busy but not full. I have seen long queues before. We sat down. The menu on the table was a little different to that on the big panels on the wall. We ordered a chicken pho, a beef pho and my sons favourite broken rice. These were the staple Vietnamese dishes good for testing how good they were. I am happy to say we were not disappointed. The sliced beef was rare and cooked by the broth. The broth was hot and flavoursome. The chicken was nice and tender. The broken rice was very nice too. The only thing missing was the pig skin salad. The pork chop could also be grilled a bit more but overall the taste was good and all the ingredients worked together well. I strongly recommend anyone living near the Doncaster East area to give this restaurant a visit.

The Fish & Burger Co. | Home to Yo-Lo Frozen Yoghurt & Acai - VIC

Nina Lin The Fish & Burger Co.’s fish burger, cranberry beef burger, fried chickens, and waffle fries were nice to eat, but not particularly memorable. The waffle fries were a bit disappointing — they weren’t hot enough when I received them, leaving them soft, soggy, and slightly cold. The burgers and fried chickens were nice but felt like a standard you could find anywhere, lacking something special to make them stand out. It’s the kind of place I’d visit if friends invited me. A decent option for a casual meal, especially if you’re not craving a specific cuisine that day.

Bingo Noodle - VIC

John YT Absolutely authentic pea noodle (wan za mian) at this Melbourne gem! The texture and flavor took me straight back to Chengdu – rich, spicy, and perfectly balanced. A must-try for noodle lovers! Plus, the price is super reasonable. Don’t miss out!

SINO Kitchen - VIC

Leonard Khoo Pleasantly surprised here. The food is really good and the staff are all friendly, given I cant speak Cantonese or Mandarin. We had the half roast duck and rice, which was delicious, not too gamey, well cooked. Also has the ngow yuk wat tan chow hor fun (need egg gravy fried flat rice noodles), this was really delicious, the sauce was eggy, flavourful and quite unique to others Ive had in the past, the beef was perfect and the hor fun noodles were thinner than usual, but still great/delicious. The salted egg bao was also very yummy, no complaints. The meal was also very affordable for the amount we ordered (& the quality). Definitely an underrated local gem.

Mamos Greek Street Food Doncaster East - VIC

Chris Cappola Excellent service, very friendly. The food was delicious. The meat lamb and chicken was succulent. Calamari was delicious and nicely cooked. Good portions too. Chips though are not like the photos out the front which are fries but minor quibble. Great addition to the area!

J K Food was delicious with the right amount of flavor. Serving portion a little smaller now though they tried to keep the price the same. Quality still good like before. Cosy restaurant with friendly staff. Staff seem to get along well too.

悦宴 Fortune House - VIC

Joyce K Super delicious Cantonese dishes, loved everything we ordered! The home made tofu was so soft and melting in the mouth. All the stir fried dishes were fantastic. Fried red bean cakes were so tasty. Also loved the almond and egg white dessert soup.
